Colgate to face No. 13-seed Michigan in NCAA Second-Round
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The 2017 Patriot League Men’s Soccer Champion Colgate (11-10-1, 4-4-1) will face No. 13-seed and Big Ten regular-season champions Michigan (12-5-2, 6-1-1) in the NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament Second-Round on Sunday November 19 at 5 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich at U-M Soccer Stadium.
The Raiders advance to the NCAA second round after defeating UMass, 2-0, Thursday afternoon. Colgate became the first Patriot League team to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament since Navy did so in 2013.

*The Raiders have now extending their win streak to six games, while Michigan looks to capture a victory after losing 2017 Big Ten Men’s Soccer Champions Wisconsin in the Conference tournament semifinals on November 10.
ABOUT THE RAIDERS: Senior Midfielder Jared Stroud netted an insurance goal as well as dished off an assist to Karl Brown for the game-winner. Stroud is the first Raider and third player in League history to record 12 assists in a single-season.
*Stroud currently leads the League in assists with 12 on the season, ranking him second overall in League history.
*Jacob Harris and the Colgate defense were the first team to shut out the Minutemen since Sept. 12 when Dartmouth beat UMass, 1-0.
*Harris earned his fifth shutout of the season against UMass Friday afternoon.
ABOUT THE WOLVERINES: Michigan is paced offensively by Jack Hallahan and Mohammed Zakyi. Hallahan and Zakai combine for 37 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Defensively, the Wolverines have recorded four shutouts with a 1.05 goals against average this season.
*Michigan’s offense averages 1.58 goals per game, while earning 114 corner kicks this season.
*In the net, Andrew Verdi and Henry Mashburn have combined for four shutouts this season. Verdi holds a .708 save percentage, while Mashburn records a .667 save percentage.
