2017 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Field Finalized
 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The 2017 Patriot League Women’s Championship field of six is set, with regular-season champion Loyola Maryland and Navy earning byes to the semifinals, while Lehigh and Boston University will each host quarterfinal round matchups, following wins in their respective regular-season finales. Lafayette and Bucknell each round out the tournament field.

Lehigh (11-5, 6-3 PL) clinched the third-seed in the Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship field by defeating Bucknell (9-7, 4-5 PL), 12-4, on Friday night in Lewisburg, Pa.  The loss drops the Bison to the No. 6 seed in the tournament. The Mountain Hawks will host Bucknell on Tuesday, May 2 at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The opening draw is scheduled for 7 p.m. with a live stream available on the Patriot League Network (PLN).
 
Boston University (9-7, 6-3 PL) earned the No. 4 seed with a 17-6 victory over American on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers will host No. 5 Lafayette (10-7, 5-4 PL) in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 2. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. opening draw, with live streaming coverage on the PLN.
 
Following the quarterfinal round the field will be reseeded, with the lowest-remaining seed to take on No. 1 Loyola Maryland, with the best-remaining seed scheduled to meet No. 2 Navy.

Loyola Maryland (10-7, 9-0 PL) had already clinched the regular-season title and hosting duties for the 2017 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championships. They wrapped up an undefeated season in League play with a 20-10 win over Army West Point on Saturday. Following the quarterfinal round, the Greyhounds will meet the lowest-remaining seed at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 5 at their home Ridley Athletic Complex.
 
Navy (13-4, 8-1 PL) had also already clinched the second-seed and earned a bye through the quarterfinal round. The Mids concluded their regular season with a 24-10 victory at Lafayette on Saturday afternoon. Following the quarterfinal round, the Mids will take on the best-remaining seed at 7:45 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex at Loyola Maryland.
