Patriot League Announces Corvias Men's Soccer Weekly Awards 9.18.17

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — With the exception of Army West Point, Colgate, and Loyola Maryland, the Patriot League men’s soccer teams will compete in one more non-League contest before the League slate opens on Friday, with the Greyhounds visiting the Raiders at 6 p.m.

Last week, the Black Knights recorded a pair of wins against Siena and Marist and will begin League play at Lehigh (3-2) on Saturday with a 5-2 record. In their game at Siena, the Black Knights held the Saints to just two shots, marking the first time since Nov. 2, 1993 that the Cadets held an opponent to two shots or fewer.

Boston University captured its first win of the season with a 1-0 shutout over Ivy rival Harvard and will look to keep the momentum going against another Ivy opponent in Princeton. The Terriers then travel to American on Saturday to begin League play.

Currently, Lehigh junior forward Mark Forrest leads the League with five goals, a perfect 1.000 goals per game average, and a 2.40 pointer per game average. He is tied with Army sophomore forward Keenan O’Shea with 12 points. O’Shea is also tied with Colgate senior Jared Stroud, Lehigh senior Doyle Tuvesson, and Loyola junior Gabriel Carlsson for a League high of four assists. On the other end of the pitch, Army sophomore keeper Justin Stoll has a League-best 0.552 goals against average and four shutouts, while Bucknell junior goalie Ryan Ott owns a 0.833 save percentage.
