CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Bucknell, Holy Cross and Lehigh all claimed a women’s soccer weekly award while Boston University picked up two when the Patriot League office announced award winners on Monday.
Boston University improved its League record to 4-0-1 with a 1-0 win over Navy on Friday. Freshman midfielder Taylor Kofton scored the game-winning goal and was named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week. Sophomore defender McKenna Kennedy helped the Terrier defense shutout the Midshipmen and was named Patriot League Defender of the Week for her efforts.
Bucknell freshman defender Holly Burns was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after posting two goals against League opponent Army West Point. Burns also helped the Bison defense hold powerhouse Princeton to only one goal when the teams met on Tuesday.
Holy Cross junior midfielder Kelly Crowley took home Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring the game-winning goal over Loyola Maryland. The win marks the Crusaders’ second League victory of the season.
Lehigh captured its first League win of the season when the Mountain Hawks defeated American 1-0 on Saturday. Junior goalkeeper Sam Miller was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week when she shut out the League’s top-scoring offense heading into the weekend during her first start of the season.
Honorable mentions were given to Lehigh senior midfielder Sabrina Mertz, Lehigh sophomore defender Ally Friedman and Holy Cross sophomore goalkeeper Sophia Lettieri.

*Kennedy paced the defense that limited Navy to only four shots during the entire game.
*The shots included only one in the first half, which did not come until the 35th minute.
*The game marks the fourth consecutive shutout for the Terriers.

*Miller made six saves to shutout the American offense.
*The shutout marks the 22nd of Miller’s career.
*Miller’s 22 shutouts move her into tied for 8th all-time in Patriot League history.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

*Burns scored two goals off of corner kicks in the Bison’s 3-1 victory over Army.
*She was part of the defense that held a powerful Princeton offense to just one goal.
*Burns played all 180 minutes last week.

*Lettieri made seven saves and picked up her third shutout of the season with a conference victory over Loyola Maryland.
