Final Results
CAMDEN, N.J. – The Navy women’s rowing program captured its fourth-consecutive Patriot League Women’s Rowing Title, after taking home two first-place finishes in the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight Grand Finals. The Mids also placed fifth in the Varsity Four Grand Final to accumulate 50 points, securing the 2018 championship.
Boston University took second in the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight races to finish as the overall runner-up for the third straight year, totaling 46 points. Bucknell collected 41 points for third-place. Georgetown took first in the Varsity Four to total 33 points for a share of the fourth-place with Lehigh (33). Rounding out the field is MIT (28), Colgate (15), Holy Cross (14) and Loyola Maryland (9).
The Midshipmen earn the Patriot League's automatic bid in to the NCAA Division I Rowing Championship, set for May 25-27 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. Last year at NCAAs, Navy placed 20th on Lake Mercer at West Windsor, N.J.
Navy head coach Joe Schlosberg recognized as the Patriot League Coach of the Year, and the Mids varsity eight boat was named the Patriot League Boat of the Year.
