CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell claimed two of the three Patriot League Baseball Weekly Awards with Navy capturing the third when the League office announced weekly honors on Tuesday.
Bucknell junior outfielder JohnPaul Bell batted .545 (6-for-11) with seven RBIs and six runs scored in Bucknell’s three-game sweep of Niagara this weekend. Bison senior left-handed pitcher Jack Grabek picked up his first Patriot League Pitcher of the Week and second career weekly honor after earning a win against Niagara. The senior lefty pitched 7.0 innings while allowing one run on one hit with eight strikeouts and three walks.
Navy freshman first baseman Zach Stevens batted .833 (5-for-6) with three runs and three RBIs in victories against UMass and Central Connecticut State to capture his first Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor.
Army West Point senior shortstop Trey Martin and senior LHP Tyler Giovinco, Lafayette junior LHP Mark Anderson and Navy senior RHP Noah Song were selected as weekly honorable mentions.

PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JohnPaul Bell, Bucknell, Jr., OF, Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West
*Bell batted .545 (6-for-11) with seven RBIs and six runs scored in Bucknell’s three-game sweep of Niagara.
*The junior outfielder slugged .818 and reached base at a .643 clip while posting three multi-hit games.
* Bell went 2-for-4 and was hit by a pitch to score four runs, drive in four runs and steal one base in the first game against the Purple Eagles.
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jack Grabek, Bucknell, Sr., LHP, Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland
*Grabek earned a win against Niagara, pitching 7.0 innings while allowing one run on one hit with eight strikeouts and three walks.
*The senior southpaw retired nine straight batters between the third and sixth inning, after allowing one run in the second.
*His eight strikeouts is the best of any of his three starts this season.
PATRIOT LEAGUE BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Zach Stevens, Navy, Fr., 1B, Lexington, Mass./IMG Academy
*Stevens batted .833 (5-for-6) with three runs and three RBIs in two games, both victories, against UMass and Central Connecticut State.
*The rookie first baseman slugged 1.500 and reached base at an .875 clip while posting a pair of multi-hit games.
*Stevens tripled twice, was hit by a pitch and scored three runs in the Mids win over UMass.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Trey Martin, Army West Point, Sr., SS, Corbin, Ky./South Laurel
*Martin batted .533 (8-for-15) with three RBIs and three runs in the Black Knights 2-2 week, registering wins against Saint Joseph’s and Tulane.
*The senior shortstop slugged .733 and posted a .533 on-base percentage while hitting in each of Army West Point’s games.
Noah Song, Navy, Sr., RHP, Claremont, Calif./Claremont
*Song did not figure in the decision after tossing 7.0 innings of shutout baseball, while allowing three hits and striking out 10. The Mids would eventually lose the game to UMass.
Tyler Giovinco, Army West Point, Sr., LHP, Las Vegas, Nev./Cimarron-Memorial
*Giovinco took a no-decision after pitching 7.0 innings of shutout baseball, scattering four hits and striking out seven in the Black Knights’ loss to Saint Joseph’s.
Mark Anderson, Lafayette, Jr., LHP, Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga
*Anderson earned the win against N.C. Central after tossing 6.0 scoreless innings and allowing three hits while striking out four and walking six.
