Patriot League Announces 2019 Women’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll (6.20.19)

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The 10 Patriot League women's lacrosse programs combined to place 220 student-athletes on the 2018-19 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll when it was announced by the League office on Thursday.

Lafayette recorded a League-high 35 representatives on the Women's Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll with Bucknell placing 24 student-athletes on the list. Both American and League champion Loyola Maryland had 23 student-athletes receive recognition while Colgate and Holy Cross had 22 honorees apiece. Army West Point, Lehigh and Navy each had 19 student-athletes on the honor roll with Boston University rounding out the list with 14 representatives.

All 13 members of the 2019 Academic All-Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Team made the academic honor roll including two-time Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year Kristen Yanchoris of Loyola Maryland. Yanchoris was joined on the honor roll by fellow all-academic team members American senior Sydney Fry, Army West Point sophomore Megan Raftery, Boston University junior Lexi Lewis, Bucknell senior Callie DeWitt and junior Jessie Britton, Colgate junior Lexi Luthringer, Holy Cross sophomore Haley Walker, Lafayette senior Emma Novick, Lehigh junior Alexandra Ladda, Loyola Maryland sophomore Elli Kluegel and Navy seniors Anne Richter and Marie Valenti.

DeWitt, Fry, Kluegel, Novick, Richter, Valenti and Yanchoris were among the 20 Patriot League women's lacrosse student-athletes to record a perfect 4.0-grade point average (GPA) during the spring semester. They were joined by American junior Casey Harkins and freshman Haley Harkins, Boston University senior Kelly Mathews, Colgate senior Madeline Barcia, junior Samantha Croston and freshman Claudia Pilcher, Lafayette sophomore Josie Brodfuehrer and senior Tali Dressler, Lehigh junior Christine Balestra and senior Mary Ellen Carron, Loyola Maryland senior Amanda Ignacio and Navy freshman Erin Finley and senior Gab Harchelroad.

Eighteen Patriot League women's lacrosse student-athletes made the academic honor roll for the fourth time, including DeWitt, Dressler, Fry, Ignacio, Novick, Richter, Valenti and Yanchoris. They are joined by American seniors Casey Aguilar-Gervase, Leah Brennan, Fiona Geier, Army West Point senior Nikki Polhamus, Boston University senior Kaitlin Belval, Colgate senior Chelsea Taylor, Holy Cross senior Julia Insani, Lafayette senior Elise Ashford and Jane Kirby and Lehigh senior Jane Henderson.

To be eligible for the Patriot League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
