WASHINGTON -
American University men's basketball player Andre Ingram (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) has been named the Patriot League Anaconda Player of the Week for the week ending December 18, Patriot League officials announced Monday.
Ingram earns the award after a week in which he led AU to a 72-60 win over cross-town rival Howard University with a game-high 21 points. It was Ingram's second 20+-point performance this season. Ingram, a 6-3 guard, hit seven-of-14 shots, including four-of-eight from behind the arc.
With his 21 points, Ingram moved to within 38 points of 1,000 career points. Also, Ingram's four three-pointers put him in second all-time at American in career three-pointers, with 157.
American, which is on a three-game winning streak, returns to action after an 11-day layoff for finals on Friday, Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. at the University of Maryland. The game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet MidAtlantic.
