BRONX, N.Y. - Fordham University Head Football Coach, Ed Foley announced the signing of 22 football players to letters of intent with Fordham for the 2005 season.
In his first season as the head coach last fall after four years as the Offensive Coordinator, Foley led a young Ram squad to a 5-6 record with four of the losses coming by a touchdown or less.
Over the past four years, the Rams have compiled a 31-16 record for a .660 winning percentage, 22nd best on the I-AA level, while the 31 wins over the past four seasons is tied for 20th best on the I-AA level.
The new recruiting class will join 12 starters who return for the 2005 season, seven of those from the offense, including quarterback Derric Daniels who set school records for a freshman with 1,876 passing yards and 23 touchdowns.
On the year, ten Rams were named All-Patriot League led by senior defensive back Tad Kornegay, a consensus 2004 First Team All-American. Also named First Team All-League were senior center Jared Amatuzzo, senior linebacker NaQuinton Gainous and sophomore placekicker Micah Clukey.
