Patriot League Coordinator Inducted Into NISOA Hall Of Fame

Center Valley, Pa. - Patriot League Coordinator of Soccer Officials, Alex Ivahnenko, was inducted into the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA) Hall of Fame at the 2006 NISOA Convention.

Ivahnenko joined NISOA in 1974 and has served the association in a wide variety of capacities, both on and off the field. A New Jersey Referee of the Year at both the college and high school levels, he also has received that honor from four different athletic conferences. A National High School Federation referee since 1971, he attained his NISOA National Referee badge in 1986 and is a National Assessor and a NISOA certified assignor.

Ivahnenko has officiated in NCAA tournaments for 10 years, including four years at the Division I level. He also has worked five NAIA tournaments and six NJCAA Division I tournaments

He has been as active off the field as well, while coordinating the NISOA Mentor Program since 2000. From 2000 to 2003, he has coordinated numerous NISOA spring clinics in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions. The co-chair of the 2004 NISOA National Convention, Ivahnenko also has served on the association's fundraising and grant writing committee since 2003. He received the NISOA Distinguished Service Award in 2004.

Ivahnenko has been serving in his current role with the Patriot League for eight years.
