Center Valley, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Oct. 4-10 in field hockey, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball and cross country Monday.
American improved to 2-0 in the League and took down another top-20 team en route to winning three of four weekly field hockey awards. Christine Fingerhuth set a new Patriot League record by winning her third straight Offensive Player of the Week award and Tatum Dyer won her second Defensive Player of the Week award. American's Alex McMakin also won the Rookie of the Week award. Colgate's Kirsten Lalli was selected as the Goalkeeper of the Week.
Army remained atop the League standings in women's soccer at 2-0-1, but it was American with a 2-0-1 week that won the Eagles two of four weekly awards. Freiderike Engel was named the Defensive Player of the Week and Lindsey Farthing was named the Goalkeeper of the Week. Lehigh, which won two League games to move into second place, was led by the Offensive Player of the Week, Natalie Hojnacki. Colgate goalkeeper Emma Giegerich was named the Rookie of the Week.
In men's soccer, Colgate and American remained undefeated in the Patriot League, and it was American's Alassane Kane who won the Offensive Player of the Week and Seth Goldman who was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Lehigh's Jonathan Nydell was named the Goalkeeper of the Week and Navy goalkeeper Aaron Dupere was named the Rookie of the Week.
American women's volleyball improved to 17-2 overall and 5-0 in the Patriot League last week, while Bucknell and Army both remained close behind in the League standings at 4-1. Bucknell's Rachel Rodriguez was named the Player of the Week and Army's Margaux Jarka was named the Rookie of the Week.
It was an off week in cross country for the majority of the Patriot League as teams gear up for the League Championship meet at the end of the month. Holy Cross was the only team to compete this past weekend and four Crusaders won weekly awards for their performance at the New England Championships. Dan Altenau was selected as the Male Runner of the Week and Paige Sutherland was named the Female Runner of the Week. Dylan Villescas and Emily Hughes each won Rookie of the Week awards.

Offensive Player of the Week
CHRISTINE FINGERHUTH, AMERICAN Sr., F, Santiago, Chile
Fingerhuth becomes the first player in Patriot League history to earn three consecutive Offensive Player of the Week awards for leading No. 10 American to two more wins and a 10-game winning streak. She scored both goals of a 2-0 blanking of Holy Cross Saturday as the Eagles improved to 2-0 in the Patriot League, and put the Eagles up 3-0 in an eventual 3-1 victory over No. 14 Duke Sunday. Fingerhuth leads the Patriot League with 11 goals and 23 points, and is eighth in League annals with 45 goals while sitting just outside the top 10 with 101 points. Fingerhuth now has four awards in her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
TATUM DYER, AMERICAN Jr., D, Windham, N.H.
Dyer paced an American defense that put together another outstanding weekend as the Eagles ran their winning streak to 10 with victories at home against Holy Cross and Duke. The shutout of Holy Cross was American's fourth of the year as the Eagles held their opponent to three shots and three penalty corners in the 2-0 blanking Saturday. In Sunday's 3-1 victory over No. 14 Duke, the Eagles gave up only 10 shots and six penalty corners. Dyer earns her second Defensive Player of the Week award of the season and the third of her career.
Goalkeeper of the Week
KIRSTEN LALLI, COLGATE Sr., GK, Pound Ridge, N.Y.
Lalli had another active week in two games, making 13 saves in a 2-1 loss to Cornell Wednesday and tallying seven stops in Colgate's 5-1 win over Lehigh Saturday, the first Patriot League victory for the Raiders since the 2008 season. She recorded double-digit saves for the fifth time in the loss to the Big Red, stopping 13 of 15 shots in the contest. Lalli made seven saves on eight shots to keep the Mountain Hawks at bay. She posted an .870 save percentage and 1.60 goals against average for the week, and tallied her fourth and fifth outings of two goals or fewer allowed. Lalli receives the Goalkeeper of the Week award for the third time this season.
Rookie of the Week
ALEX McMAKIN, AMERICAN Fr., F, Blue Bell, Pa.
McMakin scored the game-winning goal in No. 10 American's 3-1 victory over No. 14 Duke Sunday. She deflected a shot from classmate Shelly Montgomery at the right post to get the Eagles on the board first. She earns her first Rookie of the Week award, and becomes the fourth different American freshman to receive a weekly award this season.

HANNAH WEITZMAN, AMERICAN Sr., GK, Montclair, N.J.
Weitzman made two saves in a shutout of Holy Cross Saturday, and stopped three in a 3-1 win over No. 14 Duke Sunday.
DEANNA DiCROCE, LAFAYETTE So., F, Doylestown, Pa.
DiCroce tallied a pair of goals in Lafayette's 4-2 win over Bucknell Saturday.
JESSICA MILLER, LEHIGH Sr., GK, Lititz, Pa.
Miller stopped 25 shots in two games over the weekend, including a career-high 18 against Cornell Sunday.
ADRIANA LIBUTTI, COLGATE So., F, South Windsor, Conn.
Libutti scored a pair of goals in Colgate's 5-1 win over Lehigh Saturday.

BRINE Offensive Player of the Week
NATALIE HOJNACKI, LEHIGH Sr., F, Williamsville, N.Y.
Hojnacki continued her torrid pace last week, scoring three of Lehigh's five goals during the stretch. In Friday's 3-1 victory over Colgate, she found the back of the net twice and tallied the game-winner against the preseason favorite Raiders. She added another goal Sunday in Lehigh's 2-1 win over Bucknell, again logging the game-winning tally. For the week she recorded three goals, two game-winners and six points.
BRINE Defensive Player of the Week
FREIDERIKE ENGEL, AMERICAN Sr., D, Hamburg, Germany
Engel was a defensive force for the Eagles during a week in which they posted a 1-0-1 mark against League teams and a 2-0-1 record overall. Her best performance came against Princeton, where she made two crucial defensive saves, the second happening in the 78th minute with the game tied 1-1. American went on to defeat the Tigers, ranked No. 5 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic rankings, 2-1 in double overtime.
BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week
LINDSEY FARTHING, AMERICAN Sr., GK, New Hope, Pa.
Farthing was stellar in goal for the Eagles during their 2-0-1 week. She tallied 13 saves over the three games allowing just one goal and logged two shutouts, both in League play on the road, with Sunday's coming at first-place Army in a scoreless draw. She made an incredible save in the waning seconds of double overtime against the Black Knights when she made a diving stop to poke a Julia Stallard shot up and over the crossbar to preserve the tie.
BRINE Rookie of the Week
EMMA GIEGERICH, COLGATE Fr., GK, Wyckoff, N.J.
In the first start of her career, Giegerich made four saves and allowed just one goal in Colgate's 2-1 victory over Lafayette Sunday in League play. She earned the W and gave her team its first win in its last five contests. It was also the first League victory for the defending champion and preseason favorite on the season.

ALEX LOSTETTER, ARMY Sr., GK, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Lostetter posted back-to-back shutouts against Navy and American for a 1-0-1 record against the two League foes. She made four saves on the weekend and moved into sole possession of third place on the League's all-time shutouts list. She has seven for the season and 27 for her career.
ALYSSA MANOOGIAN, COLGATE So., M, Peabody, Mass.
Manoogian scored in both of her team's contests over the weekend against Lehigh and Lafayette, including the game-winner against the Leopards. She finished the week with two goals for four points.
ASHLYNN SOELLNER, NAVY Fr., F, Hollidaysburg, Pa.
Soellner tallied the only goal of the game Sunday in Navy's 1-0 road League victory at Holy Cross in her first career start. She leads the Mids with six goals and four game-winners.

BRINE Offensive Player of the Week
ALASSANE KANE, AMERICAN So., F, Macon, Ga.
Kane scored the game-winner in double overtime Saturday as American upended Lafayette 2-1 to stay undefeated and move to 3-0 in League play on the year. It's the second game-winning tally of the season for Kane. He now has a League-best six goals on the season. Earlier in the week, Kane also logged the game-tying goal in the 62nd minute of American's eventual 3-2 loss to Georgetown.
BRINE Defensive Player of the Week
SETH GOLDMAN, AMERICAN So., D, Fairfax, Va.
Goldman scored his team's first goal in its 2-1 victory over Lafayette, ranked No. 7 in the NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Mid-Atlantic poll last week. While he pitched in offensively, he also made a crucial play in the 21st minute of the match when it was still scoreless. He made a defensive save on a Wayne Maminski shot from point-blank range to preserve the scoreless tie at the time. Goldman has started all 11 of American's matches this season.
BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week
JONATHAN NYDELL, LEHIGH Sr., GK, Washington, D.C.
The senior from the nation's capital stopped four shots to hold Navy at bay in his team's scoreless draw against the Midshipmen. It was the second straight shutout of the season for Nydell, who also blanked Lafayette one week before. He has run his shutout streak to over 256 minutes.
BRINE Rookie of the Week
AARON DUPERE, NAVY Fr., GK, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.
Dupere posted an 0-0-2 week for Navy, giving up just one goal in the two contests while combining for five saves. He stopped four shots Saturday in Navy's 0-0 draw with Lehigh, giving both teams one point in the League standings while earning his fourth clean sheet of the season and lowering his goals-against average to 0.59.

PATRICK LETOURNEAU, COLGATE So., D, Bethlehem, Pa.
Letourneau scored the only goal of the game for No. 24 Colgate in its 1-0 road victory over Army. The Raiders moved to 3-0 in the League standings with the win.
TOM VAN GRINSVEN, HOLY CROSS Sr., D, Chicago, Ill.
Van Grinsven netted the game-tying goal in the 90th minute Saturday to lift Holy Cross to a 2-2 tie against Bucknell in Worcester.

Player of the Week
RACHEL RODRIGUEZ, BUCKNELL Sr., S, Sagamore Hills, Ohio
Rodriguez collected a career-high 43 assists as Bucknell defeated Colgate 3-2 Friday night in a matchup where both teams were 3-1 in League play going in. It was also the second double-double of the season for Rodriguez as she collected 15 digs, a season high. She also enabled two attackers, Heidi Kamp and Katie Baumgarten, to achieve career-bests with 22 and 13 kills, respectively.
Rookie of the Week
MARGAUX JARKA, ARMY Fr., RSH, Rolling Prairie, Ind.
Jarka averaged 3.80 kills per set during a 1-1 week for Army. Her best performance of the week came Saturday against Holy Cross, where she tallied 13 kills, three digs and hit .429 for the match. For the week she tallied 19 kills and only two errors on 48 attempts for a .354 hitting percentage. The Black Knights defeated Holy Cross 3-0 to move to 39-5 all-time versus the Crusaders.

ERIN FORTNER, NAVY Fr., S/OH, Villa Hills, Ky.
Fortner recorded the fourth triple-double of her career with a 10-kill, 18-assist, 10 dig performance in a 3-1 win over North Carolina A&T, then came three digs shy of another triple-double in the 3-0 loss to American. She averaged 3.14 kills, 4.71 assists and 2.43 digs per set while hitting .283 for the week.
COURTNEY MCCUTCHAN, LEHIGH Fr., OH, La Canada, Calif.
McCutchan continued her steady play for Lehigh with an 11-kill, 19-dig double-double performance in a 3-1 win over rival Lafayette.
ANGELINA WATERMAN, AMERICAN Sr., OH, Queens, N.Y.
Waterman posted a double-double with 13 kills and 16 digs as the Eagles swept Navy 3-0 to move to 5-0 in League play.

Male Runner of the Week
DAN ALTENAU, HOLY CROSS Jr., Eastchester, N.Y.
Altenau placed 28th out of 318 runners at the New England Championships with a time of 25:21. It was the third straight race that he was the top finisher for Holy Cross.
Female Runner of the Week
PAIGE SUTHERLAND, HOLY CROSS Jr., Groveland, Mass.
Sutherland finished 20th out of 322 runners at the New England Championships with a time of 18:14. She has been the Crusaders' top finisher in 17 of their last 18 races.
Male Rookie of the Week
DYLAN VILLESCAS, HOLY CROSS Fr., Las Cruces, N.M.
Villescas finished 84th out of 293 runners in the sub-varsity race of the New England Championships with a time of 27:32.
Female Rookie of the Week
EMILY HUGHES, HOLY CROSS Fr., Milton, Mass.
Hughes placed 96th out of 322 runners at the New England Championships with a time of 19:13.
