Thoughts from Stefanie PemperOur team will be significantly better this year if Ashanti can have a consistent presence on the court and in the locker room. She has evolved into a gal who can drive effectively, shoot the 3, impact the game with her defense and make smart basketball passes. Ashanti was our third best shooter by percentage in games last year and we’re looking to improve that team stat this year. When she is ‘in rhythm’ she is a competitor and fun to watch.Makeba has worked very hard since last season ended to improve her post game, her perimeter shot, her defense and her conditioning. She is our most enthusiastic low-post presence and consistently works for position and wants the ball anywhere near the paint. She is explosive and aggressive and when she gets to where she can read defenses and make the right decision consistently her confidence will soar.
