CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Boston University senior forward Grace Boston earns Patriot League Field Hockey Corvias Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal to lift the Terriers over American for sole possession of first-place in the League. Lehigh senior midfielder Jackie Renda and sophomore goalkeeper Paige Innarella earn Corvias Defensive and Goalkeeper of the Week honors for their roles in shutting out Lafayette, 1-0 on Friday evening, while American freshman forward Noor Coenen sealed her Corvias Rookie of the Week performance with a four-goal outing against Brown on Sunday.
Boston University junior defender Ally Hammel led a defense that held American to just six shots in a 2-1 win, while Lehigh junior forward Teresa Carotenuto scored an overtime game winner against Lafayette to earn weekly honorable mention. Bucknell junior forward M.C. Evans accounted for three of the team’s four goals in a 4-1 victory over Colgate on Saturday morning to earn honorable mention.
BOSTON U. BEATS AMERICAN TO REMAIN LONE UNBEATEN TEAM IN LEAGUE PLAY
No. 25 Boston University’s Grace Boston scored the eventual game winner in 64th-minute to lift them over No. 24 American on Saturday in a battle of the remaining unbeaten teams in Patriot League field hockey. The Terriers struck in the first half when Maika Akroyd scored off a penalty corner in the 23rd minute. American’s Kathryn Roncoroni scored off a corner late in the second half to tie the score, but Boston netted the game winner two minutes later. The Terriers avenged their loss to American from last season’s Patriot League Championship Game. Though BU also won the 2016 regular-season matchup, 2-1.
LEHIGH SNAPS 13-GAME LOSING STREAK AGAINST LAFAYETTE
Junior forward Teresa Carotenuto’s overtime game-winning goal lifted Lehigh to its first victory over Lafayette since 2005. Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Innarella made 12 saves in the shutout victory to help the Mountain Hawks to its first League victory of the season.
LEAGUE PLAY CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND
League play continues on Friday when Boston University puts its unbeaten League record on the line at Holy Cross with live streaming coverage on the Patriot League Network beginning at 6 p.m. Lafayette will also host Bucknell on Friday evening at 7 p.m. American travels to Colgate for an 11 a.m. matchup on Saturday morning.

*Holy Cross’s Connolly is currently leads the Patriot League and tied for fifth in the nation, averaging 1.00 goals per game. The senior forward is also 10th in the nation, averaging 2.42 points per game.
*American freshman Noor Coenen is 15th in NCAA Division I, averaging 0.86 goals per game. She is fourth in the nation among freshmen. She is also 25th in the nation, averaging 1.93 points per game.
*The Eagles’ junior midfielder Rafaela Rubas is tied for 25th in NCAA Division I with .64 assists on the season.
*Lehigh’s junior defender Kendra Sandhu is tied for 10th in the nation with three defensive saves on the season.
*American’s junior goalkeeper Maura Jacobs is 13th in the nation with a 1.34 goals against average.
* Holy Cross sophomore goalkeeper Marcia LaPlante is third in the nation, averaging 9.42 saves per game, while Colgate senior goalkeeper Maria Krull is fifth in the nation, averaging 8.83 saves per game.

Boston scored the Terriers’ game-winning goal in the 64th minute to lift them over American to take sole possession of first-place and become the lone unbeaten team in League play. Boston collected her own rebound and scored inside the left post to clinch the victory in the Terriers’ lone game of the week.
Corvias Defensive Player of the Week
Jackie Renda, Lehigh, Sr., M, Roseland, N.J./West Essex
Renda played a key role in the Mountain Hawks’ defense in shutting out Lafayette in a 1-0 victory on Friday night. The senior midfielder also assisted on the game-winning overtime goal to propel Lehigh to its first win over Lafayette since 2005.
Corvias Goalkeeper Player of the Week
Paige Innarella, Lehigh, So., GK, Fairfield, N.J./West Essex
Innarella made 12 saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over Lafayette to help the Mountain Hawks snap a 13-game losing streak to the Leopards. The sophomore goalkeeper made seven first half saves to keep the game tied, despite a 7-0 shots on goal advantage for Lafayette. Innarella also made a key save late to force overtime. This is her third-career shutout and second of the season.
Corvias Rookie Player of the Week
Noor Coenen, American, Fr., M, Naarden, Netherlands/Laar en Berg
Coenen scored a career-high four goals in the Eagles 7-1 victory over Brown on Sunday. The four goals was the single-game high among Patriot League players this season. The freshman midfielder also assisted a game-tying goal in the Eagles eventual loss to Boston University on Saturday. Coenen’s .857 goals per game and 1.93 points per game puts her among the top five freshmen in NCAA Division I in those categories.

Carotenuto scored an overtime game-winning goal for Lehigh in a 1-0 shutout over Lafayette on Friday evening. The victory was Lehigh’s first over Lafayette since 2005. The victory was the Mountain Hawks first League win of the season.
