PETER PUJALS AND ABDULLAH ANDERSON SELECTED TO PLAY IN NFLPA COLLEGIATE BOWL
Holy Cross senior quarterback Peter Pujals and Bucknell senior defensive lineman have been selected to play in the 2018 National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Collegiate Bowl on Saturday, January 20 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, founded in 2012, is a showcase for NFL Draft-eligible players to practice, play and interview with scouts, player personnel staff, general managers and head coaches from all 32 NFL teams. Pujals, a three-time All-Patriot League selection, finishes his career in Worcester, Mass. in second-place in the League in career passing yards (11,695), total offense (13,451) and passing touchdowns (84). Anderson, a four-time all-League selection was selected as the 2017 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year. The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will be televised on Fox Sports 1 at 4 p.m. ET.

PATRIOT LEAGUE HAS 12 NAMED TO DIVISION I FCS ALL- ECAC TEAM
The 2017 Division I Football Championship Series (FCS) All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Teams were announced this week, with nine Patriot League student-athletes earning first-team honors and three named to the second-team. Lehigh had a League-leading six players recognized, including five on the first-team with junior quarterback Brad Mayes, junior running back Dom Bragalone, senior wide receiver Troy Pelletier and senior offensive linemen Tim O’Hara and Brandon Short. Senior offensive lineman Zach Duffy was selected to the second-team. Bucknell junior punter Alex Pechin, Colgate sophomore defensive lineman Nick Wheeler, Fordham junior defensive back Dylan Mabin and Holy Cross senior linebacker Nick McBeath claimed first-team honors. Fordham senior offensive lineman Anthony Coyle and Georgetown sophomore defensive lineman Khristian Tate both earned second-team accolades.

BUCKNELL’S ALEX PECHIN A FINALIST FOR STATS FCS DORIS ROBINSON AWARD
Bucknell junior punter Alex Pechin – the 2017 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year – was named a finalist for the STATS FCS Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award, when it was announced earlier this week. Pechin finished third in the FCS, averaging 45.1 yards per punt, while also carrying 3.94 cumulative grade point average as a biomedical engineering/management for engineers major. This is the third year that STATS FCS has given the Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award, named for the wife of the legendary Grambling State coach Eddie Robinson.

FORDHAM HEAD COACH ANDREW BREINER TO JOIN JOE MOORHEAD AT MISSISSIPPI STATE
Fordham University head football coach Andrew Breiner announced his resignation this week to join former Fordham head coach Joe Moorhead at Mississippi State University. Moorhead was recently named the Bulldogs’ head coach Breiner went 12-10 during his two seasons at the helm of the Rams’ program, after spending the previous four seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator under Moorhead. Assistant head coach Shane Fogarty will serve as Fordham’s interim head coach while the University conducts a search for a replacement. Moorhead is one of two former Patriot League head coaches to currently lead a Division I FBS program, along with Wake Forest’s Dave Clawson (Fordham, 1999-2003).
