Bucknell's Julie'n Davenport Becomes First Patriot Leaguer Selected in NFL Draft Since 2011

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell offensive tackle Julie’n Davenport was selected in the fourth-round, 130th overall by the Houston Texans on Saturday during the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia, Pa. Davenport is the first Patriot League student-athlete selected since 2011 and the first Bucknell player drafted since 1969.

Davenport, who started 44 consecutive games at left tackle for the Bison, is a four-time All-Patriot League First Team selection. He became just the 12th consensus All-American in Patriot League history following the 2016 season by earning AFCA, AP, STATS and Walter Camp honors.

Davenport is the ninth student-athlete to be drafted from a Patriot League program, since the League began in 1986. He is the first since Lehigh offensive lineman Will Rackley was drafted in the third round (76th overall) by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011. Fordham quarterback John Skelton was selected in the fifth round (155th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2010.
