Colgate junior placekicker Chris Puzzi kicked a 38-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Raiders to a 23-20 victory over James Madison in the NCAA DI FCS Second Round. The First Team All-Patriot League placekicker discussed the memorable moment with PLN Correspondent Morgan Uber and the confidence he received from head coach Dan Hunt before his game-winning kick.

Brian McLaughlin of HeroSports.com writes about the wealth of talent that Colgate has recruited from the state of Florida, including 2018 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year James Holland Jr. and senior defensive back Tyler Castillo, who is third among active FCS student-athletes with 13 career interceptions. The Raiders have 12 players from the Sunshine State, more than any other state except Pennsylvania.

FORDHAM GREAT CHASE EDMONDS SCORES FIRST NFL TOUCHDOWNS
Patriot League career rushing and scoring leader Chase Edmonds, a rookie running back with the Arizona Cardinals, scored his first two NFL touchdowns in Sunday’s 20-17 upset victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Edmonds’ mother and sister were able to travel from Arizona to Green Bay and witness the big day.

PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL STUDENT-ATHLETES MAKE FORBES 30 UNDER 30 LIST
Former Colgate receiver Jimmy DeCicco and former Georgetown receiver Jake DeCicco make up two-thirds of the sibling trio behind Kitu Life, a “Super Coffee” brand distributed in grocery stores across the nation. The DeCicco brothers made the Forbes 30 under 30 in the Food and Drink category after appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank earlier in 2018.

BUCKNELL’S ALEX PECHIN A FINALIST FOR STATS FCS DORIS ROBINSON AWARD
Bucknell senior punter Alex Pechin has been named one of 13 finalists for the STATS FCS Doris Robinson Award for the second consecutive season. Pechin, a two-time Patriot League Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year and three-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree, carries a 3.93 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a biomedical engineering/management for engineers major. He was fourth in the FCS in punting average (44.5 yds./punt) and has been active on campus and in the Lewisburg, Pa. community. The Doris Robinson Award is presented to a student-athlete who excels on the field, in the classroom and the community.

RYAN BRADY NAMED ALL-NEW ENGLAND
Holy Cross senior linebacker Ryan Brady, a First Team All-Patriot League selection, was selected to the 2018 DI All-New England football team when it was announced by the New England Football Writers’ Association. Brady led the Patriot League with 121 total tackles while tallying 15.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries. Brady and the Crusaders tied for second place in the Patriot League at 4-2.
