CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Navy senior guard Shawn Anderson was named a Senior CLASS Award All-America First Team honoree, while Army West Point senior forward Luke Morrison was named to the second-team when the 2017-18 NCAA Division I basketball awards were announced last week.
Anderson, an All-Patriot League First Team selection averaged 13.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in his final season at Navy. He became the first-player in program history to accumulate 1,000 points, 500 career rebounds and 300 career assists. He finished his career 15th in Navy history and 59th in the Patriot League with 1,344 points. The New Castle, Pa. native has also been very involved in the community, co-founding the non-profit Forever Red Hurricanes organization, to provide role models and mentors for youth, in addition to his work in the community in Annapolis, Md.

Morrison averaged 8.6 points and 3.7 rebounds, while shooting .414 percent from 3-point range during his senior season at West Point. He finished ninth in program history, shooting .380 percent from long range. The Charlotte, N.C. native has excelled academically and militarily during his time at the U.S. Military Academy and will branch Air Defense Artillery and be stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas following graduation.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: classroom, community, character and competition.
The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I men's basketball coaches, national basketball media and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in Division I men's basketball.
