2017-18 Patriot League Women's Basketball Complete Academic Honor List
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The 10 Patriot League women’s basketball teams combined to place 83 student-athletes on the sport’s Academic Honor Roll, announced Thursday.
Loyola Maryland led the League with 14 honorees followed by Lehigh with 12 student-athletes. American and Bucknell placed 11 each on the list, followed closely by Lafayette with 10 and Holy Cross with eight student-athletes. Colgate was represented by five, while Army West Point, Boston University and Navy all added four each.
All six student-athletes named to the Women’s Basketball Academic All-Patriot League squad also received a spot on the Academic Honor Roll, including American senior Emily Kinneston, a Biology major and 2017-18 Patriot League Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Seven women's basketball student-athletes achieved a 4.00 GPA this past semester: Lehigh freshman Mary Clougherty (Accounting), sophomore Hannah Hedstrom (Biology) and senior Quinci Mann (Political Science), and Loyola Maryland junior Alex Barazotti (Psychology), freshman Delaney Connolly (Chemistry), senior Madelene McDonald (Global Studies), and junior Courtney Vannoy (Psychology).
American’s Kinneston, Kate Bond and Maria Liddane are among eight student-athletes to make the Academic Honor Roll in all four seasons, joining Army West Point’s Destinee Morris; Boston University’s Kara Sheftic; Bucknell’s Catherine Romaine; Holy Cross’ Katie Doherty; and Lafayette’s Anna Ptasinski.
To be eligible for the Patriot League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
