American (24-7, 15-1 PL) defeated No. 3 Army West Point (22-10, 11-5 PL), 3-1, to capture the 2019 Patriot League Women's Volleyball Championship on Sunday afternoon at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C. American senior setter Olivia Wassner was awarded Tournament MVP honors as she totaled 25 assists to guide the Eagles to a .263 hitting percentage. The 2019 Patriot League Setter of the Year also added four kills on seven attempts and seven digs.
Head Coach Barry Goldberg and the Eagles claim their 16th Patriot League Championship and first since 2017. American junior outside hitter Helena Elbaek posted 16 kills, and senior middle blocker Jeanne Westney recorded seven total blocks to join Wassner on the 2019 Patriot League All-Tournament Team. Army West Point senior outside hitter Courtney Horace (13 kills) and junior libero Ana Oglivie (18 digs) were selected to represent the Black Knights on the all-tournament squad.

*Senior libero Kristen Largay helped lead the way for the Eagles as she collected 22 digs during the match.
