CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Colgate junior guard Jordan Burns was named the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and Holy Cross freshman forward Joe Pridgen claimed his third-consecutive rookie of the week honor when the League office announced weekly accolades on Monday.
Burns received the third Patriot League Player of the Week honor of his career and second this season after posting a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists in Colgate’s 89-71 win against Columbia on Saturday. The Raiders have won eight of its last nine games.
Pridgen picked up his third-straight Patriot League Rookie of the Week award by scoring a game-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the floor to go along with eight rebounds in three assists against Sacred Heart on Saturday.
Boston University senior forward Max Mahoney, Bucknell junior guard Jimmy Sotos, Holy Cross junior guard Austin Butler and Lafayette junior guard Justin Jaworski each received an honorable mention for their performances last week.
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Burns, Colgate, Jr., G, San Antonio, Texas/John Marshall
*Burns posted his third career double-double with 21 points and 10 assists to lead Colgate to its eighth victory in its last nine games with an 89-71 decision against Columbia on Saturday.
*He connected on 8-of-14 attempts from the floor to lead six Raiders in double figures while also matching his season highs with six rebounds and three steals.
*Burns claimed his second player of the week honor this season and is leading the Raiders through non-League play with 15.7 points per game.
PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

*Pridgen scored a game-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the floor to go along with eight rebounds in three assists against Sacred Heart on Saturday.
*The freshman forward has recorded a team-high three 20-point games this season, the best mark among all Patriot League rookies.
*Pridgen is the first League freshmen to earn three-consecutive rookie of the week awards since Lehigh’s Tim Kempton during the 2013-14 season.

*Mahoney scored a game-high 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor and pulled down seven rebounds in Boston University’s 74-62 victory against UMass Lowell on Saturday. The senior forward helped the Terriers’ defense hold the River Hawks to a season-low 31.3 field goal percentage.
Jimmy Sotos, Bucknell, Jr., G, Elk Grove Village, Ill./Conant
*Sotos led Bucknell with 23 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three steals against Siena on Saturday. He has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games and held Siena’s starting point guard scoreless with no assists in 30 minutes.
Austin Butler, Holy Cross, Jr., G, Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe Senior
*Butler posted a double-double with 17 points and a career-high 17 rebounds to go along with a career-high seven assists against Sacred Heart on Saturday. His 17 boards are the most by a Crusaders since Eric Obeysekere pulled down 17 rebounds at Marist on Dec. 19, 2010.
Justin Jaworski, Lafayette, Jr., G, Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley
*Jaworski averaged 20.5 points on 60 percent (6-of-10) shooting from 3-point range to help Lafayette go 1-1 last week with a win over Widener (96-56). The junior guard had a team-high 13 points and four rebounds against Rutgers on Sunday.
