BETHLEHEM, Pa. – All 10 Patriot League men’s basketball programs will be in action this weekend, with five games on Saturday and five more on Sunday. Eight of the weekend’s games will be streamed live on ESPN+ with two games nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
 
Four of Saturday’s games will be available on ESPN+, as American hosts South Division rival Loyola Maryland to tip-off Saturday’s action at noon. Bucknell at Colgate (1 p.m.), Lehigh at Holy Cross (2 p.m.) and Boston University at Lafayette (4 p.m.) will also be streamed on ESPN+. Army West Point will travel to Navy for a 2:30 p.m. game on CBS Sports Network with Jason Knapp and Mo Cassara handling the call.
 
On Sunday, the Raiders host the Bison (1 p.m.), the Crusaders take on the Mountain Hawks (2 p.m.), the Mids welcome the Black Knights (3 p.m.) and the Eagles travel to take on the Greyhounds (6 p.m.) all on ESPN+. The Central Division-leading Leopards host the defending League champion Terriers at 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network with Knapp and Cassara on the call. Patriot League Men’s Basketball in 2021 Explained
The Patriot League’s 10 men’s basketball programs are divided into three divisions for the 2021 season. The North Division includes Army West Point, Boston University, Colgate and Holy Cross. The Central Division includes Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh. The South Division includes American, Loyola Maryland and Navy.
 
The 2021 Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship will feature a reduced eight-team field. Two teams from each division will receive an automatic berth to the League championship based on their divisional record. Two final teams will qualify for the tournament based on their overall League record. Non-League games will not be considered for tournament qualifications purposes.
 
NAVY RANKED NO. 24 IN MID-MAJOR POLL
Navy’s 9-1 overall start to the season is the best 10-game start for the Mids since 1983-84 season, while their 6-0 start in League play is the second time in the program’s 30 years in the Patriot League, matching the 1997-98 season. The hot start has Navy ranked atop the League’s South Division and No. 24 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. Senior guard Cam Davis is third in the League in scoring (18.6) while the Mids lead the League in turnover margin at +3.4.
 
COLGATE AND THE 40-POINT WIN
Colgate leads the Patriot League’s North Division after a 5-1 start to the season, including winning its last four games. The Raiders are third in NCAA DI in scoring offense (90.0) and scoring margin, defeating opponents by an average of 23.7 points per game. Head Coach Matt Langel’s squad has three wins of 40 or more points this season, defeating Army West Point, 101-57 (Jan. 2), Boston University, 89-45 (Jan. 10) and Holy Cross, 95-55 (Jan. 16). The Raiders are receiving votes in the Mid-Major Top 25.
 
JAWORSKI AMONG DI SCORING LEADERS
Lafayette senior guard Justin Jaworski is third among NCAA DI Scoring Leaders averaging 23.0 points per game. Jaworski is also 12th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage, connecting on 47.7 percent (21-for-44) of his attempts from deep, while his career 3-point field goal percentage is third in Patriot League history (43.0). The Schwenksville, Pa. native opened the season with a career-high 37 points to help earn GEICO Player of the Week honors. He has scored 20 or more points in four of the Leopards six games this season and has led the squad to a 5-1 start to sit in first place in the Central Division.
