BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The No. 1 Loyola Maryland Greyhounds were crowned the 2021 Patriot League Men's Soccer Champions with a 2-1 victory over No. 2 American on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore, Md.
The win marks the Greyhounds' first Patriot League Men's Soccer Championship title.
Loyola graduate student goalkeeper Chase Vosvick was awarded Tournament MVP honors. Graduate student midfielder Justin Ingram, freshman defender Jordy Luchies and senior forward Kelan Swales joined Vosvick on the all-tournament team.
American senior defenders Nicholas Blassou and David Coly and junior defender Mattias Cooper were all named to the all-tournament squad.
Army West Point senior midfielder Oscar Pereira and senior goalkeeper Jacob Suppiah, along with Navy senior defender Matt Nocita and senior forward Jacob Williams rounded out the all-tournament team.
The Greyhounds earned the Patriot League's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. They will learn their first-round opponent when the NCAA Selection Show takes place on Monday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. ET. First-round action begins Thursday, Nov. 18, followed by the second round on Sunday, Nov. 21.

BALTIMORE – Loyola Maryland earned the 2021 Patriot League Men's Soccer Championship title with a 2-1 win over American on Saturday afternoon.
* Loyola senior forward Kelan Swales gave the Greyhounds an early 1-0 lead (14:33) when he netted the first goal of the game on midfielder Justin Ingram's corner. The tally was Swales' eighth goal of the season, while Ingram's assist was his 10th this season.
* American tied the game at 1-1 in the 31st minute when senior forward David Coly scored on an assist by junior midfielder Jack Green. Coly's goal was his eighth of the season, while Green recorded his third assist of the campaign.
* Ingram gave the Greyhounds a 2-1 lead in the 82nd-minute with an unassisted tally.
* American freshman goalkeeper Dominic Dominguez made a pair of saves in goal.
