Patriot League Announces GEICO Women’s Basketball Players of the Week (12.20.21)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Lehigh sophomore guard Mackenzie Kramer was named the Patriot League GEICO Women's Basketball Player of the Week, while teammate freshman forward Meghan O’Brien received rookie of the week honors when the League office announced awards on Monday.
 
American senior forward Taylor Brown, Boston University junior guard Liz Shean and Bucknell freshman guard Remi Sisselman and senior guard Marly Walls earned honorable mention recognition.
 
The Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Player of the Week.
Mackenzie Kramer, Lehigh, So., G, Saint Michael, Minn./Saint Michael Albertville
* Kramer scored 20 points on 50 percent shooting with a career-high six 3-pointers in Lehigh's 82-39 victory over Delaware State on Saturday.
* She added six rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes of action.
* Her six 3-pointers is a program-high for the season so far, and it was Kramer’s sixth game in a row with 10 or more points.
 
Patriot League Rookie of the Week
Meghan O’Brien, Lehigh, Fr., F, Centreville, Va./Chantilly
* O'Brien totaled career-highs with eight points and 10 rebounds, along with three blocks in the 82-39 win over Delaware State on Saturday.
* The freshman shot 51.7 percent (4-for-7) from the field finishing just a bucket shy of her first career double-double.

Taylor Brown, American, Sr., F, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North
* Brown led the Eagles to a 62-58 win over Longwood with a career-high 19 points on Saturday. The senior has scored double-figures in seven consecutive games this season.
 
Liz Shean, Boston University, Jr., G, Arlington, Va./Yorktown
* Shean tied for the team lead with a career-high 15 points in BU's 60-47 win over New Hampshire last Monday.
 
Remi Sisselman, Bucknell, Fr., G/F, Long Island, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East
* Sisselman scored a career-high 13 points off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting, including going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc in the win over George Mason.
 
Marly Walls, Bucknell, Sr., G, Bardstown, Ky./Nelson County
* Walls dished out eight assists for a second time this season, matching her career high, in Saturday's win over George Mason. The senior captain added 12 points on 5-of-8 (62.5%) shooting as well.
