BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell has earned the number one seed in the 2021 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Basketball Championship when the 2020-21 regular season concluded on Sunday. This year’s championship gets underway on Sunday, March 7 with four quarterfinal contests.
Boston University enters the tournament as the two seed for the second-straight year, while American sits at No. 3 and Lehigh takes the No. 4 spot. The top four seeds will all host games in the quarterfinal round.
Holy Cross rounds out the top five, followed by Army West Point (No. 6), Lafayette (No.7) and Loyola Maryland (No. 8).
The Patriot League semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, March 11 followed by the championship game on Sunday, March 14. The championship game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network, while the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Colgate women’s basketball program will not be participating in the tournament as they have opted out of the remainder of the 2020-21 season for non-COVID-19 health and safety reasons.
The Navy women’s basketball team will also not be participating in the tournament due to a positive COVID-19 test within the program’s Tier 1.
