BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Boston University earned a pair of this week’s Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving awards when the League office announced winners on Tuesday. Lehigh and Loyola Maryland both received one award.
Greyhounds’ junior Jonathan Brooks earned Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week, while Lehigh senior Ann Foley was named female swimmer of the week.
Terriers’ freshman Teddy McCarthy received male diver of the week while teammate junior Emily Balicanta was named female diver of the week.
Boston University senior Sydney Lee and sophomore Sarsen Whatmore, Lehigh senior Megan Fennell and Glenn Lasco, and Loyola Maryland senior Emma Schouten all collected honorable mention recognition.
MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Jonathan Brooks, Loyola Maryland, Jr., Towson, Md.
* Brooks contributed to four of the Loyola men’s 13 victories over visiting Villanova on Saturday, as the Greyhounds picked up their third dual victory of the season
* His 200 backstroke time (1:51.36) was a season-best mark, which ranks seventh overall in the Patriot League.
* The junior earned two more wins on the day in the 100 back (51.07) and the 100 butterfly.
FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Ann Foley, Lehigh, Sr., Merchantville, N.J.
Foley notched four wins on the day (two individual and two relays) as the senior was key to the Mountain Hawks' win over Rider, 84-38.
* Foley took first in the 100 freestyle (54.31) and the 200 free with a time of 1:57.53.
* Foley was a member of the winning 4x50 relay (1:39.95) and 4x100 relay (3:40.91).
MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Teddy McCarthy, Boston University, Fr., Raleigh, N.C.
* McCarthy recorded a pair of wins in the team’s victory against Bryant.
* In the 1-meter dive, the freshman nabbed second place with a score of 236.25, while he finished in fourth in the 3-meter dive (205.43).
FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Emily Balicanta, Boston University, Jr. Pleasantville, Calif.
* Balicanta tallied the top spot in the 3-meter dive (244.73) and second place in the 1-meter dive (241.35) in the team’s 167-131 win versus Bryant.

Sydney Lee, Boston University, Sr., Milton, Mass.
* In BU’s 167-131 win over Bryant, Lee recorded first place in the 200 free (1:53.87), 100 free (52.97) and 500 free (5:12.38).
Sarsen Whatmore, Boston University, So., Sarasota, Fla.
* Whatmore earned a trio of individual wins against Bryant in the 200 free (1:41.42), 100 free (46.97) and 500 free (4:42.03).
Megan Fennell, Lehigh, Sr., Washington, D.C.
* Fennell recorded first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 217.58 against Rider.
Glenn Lasco, Lehigh, Jr., Linwood, N.J.
* Lasco notched wins in the 100 free (46.32), and 200 free (1:44.54) against Rider, while being a part of the victorious 4x50 free (1:27.80) and 4x100 relays (3:14.07).
Emma Schouten, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Lilitz, Pa.
* Schouten accounted for two of the Loyola women’s four event victories during Saturday’s dual meet against Villanova, sweeping the breaststroke events.
* She posted season-best times in both the 100 breaststroke (1:04.40) and 200 breaststroke (2:20.23).
