BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell claimed two of the five Patriot League women’s lacrosse weekly honors when the League office announced them on Monday. Colgate, Lehigh and Loyola Maryland collected one weekly accolade apiece.
Bucknell senior Julia Bradbury claimed Patriot League Midfielder of the Week for her five-goal performance in Saturday’s 15-7 win over Lafayette. Freshman attacker Ellie Mayer was named rookie of the week for recording her first collegiate hat trick.
Colgate freshman Amelia Cunningham was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week after making a career-high 12 saves in the Raiders’ 12-9 win over Holy Cross.
Lehigh sophomore Katia Carnevale was named Patriot League Attacker of the Week after scoring a career-high eight goals on nine shots in a 12-10 win over American.
Loyola Maryland senior Katie Detwiler was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Greyhounds’ wins against Georgetown (9-6) and Drexel (17-12) last week.
American senior attacker Emma Vinall, Bucknell junior attacker Katie Wendell, Colgate sophomore Cara O’Reilly, Holy Cross junior attacker Jolie Creo, Lehigh graduate student midfielder Sondra Dickey, and Loyola Maryland seniors Sam Fiedler, Kaitlyn Larsson and Livy Rosenzweig all received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
Katia Carnevale, Lehigh, So., Attacker, Summit, N.J./Summit
*Carnevale scored a career-high eight goals on nine shots in Lehigh’s 12-10 victory over American on Saturday.
*Six of the sophomore’s goals were go-ahead goals, and two were equalizers in the Mountain Hawks’ eventual victory.
*Her eight-goal performance is tied for the third-most in NCAA DI this season. She also picked up two ground balls and caused three turnovers against the Eagles.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Julia Bradbury, Bucknell, Sr., Midfielder, Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional
*Bradbury scored a career-high five goals while picking up two ground balls and causing two turnovers in Bucknell’s 15-7 victory over Lafayette on Saturday.
*She scored three first-half goals to help the Bison to an 8-6 halftime lead before contributing two more goals in Bucknell’s second-half-opening 7-0 run.
*Bradbury also tied single-game highs with two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie Detwiler, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Devon, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll
*Detwiler led a Loyola Maryland defensive unit with four ground balls and two caused turnovers in wins against Georgetown (9-6) and Drexel (17-12).
*The junior defender held Drexel’s Tewaaraton Award Watch List candidate Karson Harris, who entered the game second in NCAA DI in goals, to one goal on three shots.
*She held Georgetown’s Michaela Bruno scoreless while holding the Hoyas to a season-low six goals.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Amelia Cunningham, Colgate, Fr., Goalkeeper, Rye, N.Y./Rye
*Cunningham recorded a career-high 12 saves in Colgate’s 12-9 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.
*Trailing by two goals at halftime, Cunningham made seven saves and allowed just two goals to help the Raiders earn a comeback victory.
*The Rye, N.Y. native also picked up four ground balls in Colgate’s win.
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

*Mayer posted her first collegiate hat trick in Bucknell’s 15-7 victory against Lafayette on Saturday.
*The freshman netted three goals on five shots, two coming during a second-half Bison 7-0 run that put the game out of reach.
*Mayer also recorded her first two collegiate draw controls in the victory.

*Creo led the Crusaders with three goals, to go along with two draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover in a loss to Colgate on Saturday.

*Dickey totaled five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers in Lehigh’s 12-10 victory over American on Saturday.

*Fiedler posted 12 points on seven goals and five assists in victories against Georgetown (9-6) and Drexel (17-12). She also had two draw controls and four ground balls.
