UPDATE: Davis, Jaworski, King Represent Patriot League in 2021 3x3U National Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three Patriot League men’s basketball student-athletes will team with one Ivy League student-athlete to compete in the 2021 3X3U National Championship, played from Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4 at The Pavilion in Indianapolis.
 
Army West Point senior forward Alex King, Lafayette senior guard Justin Jaworski and Navy senior guard Cam Davis will be joined by Penn graduate guard Devon Goodman to form the Patriot League-Ivy League squad.
 
HOW TO WATCH THE 2021 3X3U NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Tournament receive coverage via Twitter (@3X3UHoops) and on ESPN2. Every second of the 2021 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship will be available to a national audience beginning with pool play games on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, and knockout rounds on Sunday, April 4. Twitter will be the exclusive home of pool play games, as well as the first three knockout rounds. ESPN2 will air the semifinal and championship contests. The voice of FIBA 3x3 Basketball, Kyle Montgomery, returns to the 3X3U airwaves alongside NCAA All-American, NBA Draft pick, ESPN analyst and 3x3 Olympic hopeful Robbie Hummel to call every game of the 2021 Tournament. Tate Frazier and Mark Titus of the Titus & Tate Podcast will also suit up as the hosts of the Dos Equis Lounge to provide commentary, postgame interviews and more over the three-day experience.

UPDATE (4.4.21): The Patriot/Ivy League team (Wicked Smahts) fell to the Big Ten/Mac squad, 22-9, in the semifinal round of the 3X3U National Championship on Sunday. Earlier in the day they defeated the Pac-12/WCC, 20-17, in the quarterfinals. Jaworski finished with a team-high 10 points and six rebounds, while King added five points and four rebounds in the victory. 
 
UPDATE (4.3.21): The Patriot/Ivy League team (Wicked Smahts) went 2-1 on Saturday with victories over the Horizon/MVC (20-18), American/C-USA (21-16) and its first loss of the Tournament to the Big 12/Southland (11-21). The Patriot/Ivy League advanced to the single-elimination round on Sunday with a bye into the quarterfinal round as the top seed in Pool A. They will play the Pac-12/WCC at 2:10 p.m. Jaworski is leading the Tournament in scoring, avering 9.6 points per game, while Davis's 1.5 assists per game leads the tournament field. 

 
UPDATE (4.2.21): The Patriot/Ivy League (Wicked Smahts) is 4-0 and in first place in Pool A after the first day of competition with wins over . Jaworski leads the 3x3U Championship with 41 points, including a tournament-high 16 3-point field goals. King is fourth with 19 points, shooting a tournament-best 63.6 percent from the floor. King is third among the tournament leaders with 23 rebounds, while he and Navy's Cam Davis are tied for the lead with seven assists. 
 


MEET THE 2021 PATRIOT LEAGUE 3X3U SQUAD
Justin Jaworski, Lafayette, Sr., G, 6-3, 196, Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley
2020-21 Stats: 21.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.3 apg, .463 FG%, .398 3PT%
Jaworski, a First Team All-Patriot League selection, led the League and finished 10th in NCAA DI in scoring (21.5 ppg), while shooting .398 from beyond the arc. He finished his career fifth in Patriot League men’s basketball history in 3-point field goal percentage (.422). Jaworski was also named the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and became the eighth League men’s basketball student-athlete to be named to the Academic All-League team three times.
 
Cam Davis, Navy, Sr., G, 6-0, 183, Battlefield, Mo./Kickapoo
2020-21 Stats: 17.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.5 spg, .420 FG%, .356 3PT%
Davis, a First Team All-Patriot League honoree, finished fourth in the League in scoring (17.1 ppg) and eighth in assists (2.7 apg). He led Navy to a 15-3 season, allowing them to earn the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Davis was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Men’s Basketball Team for the second time following the season and was one of two Midshipmen to be chosen for the prestigious MIT/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Joint Master’s program.
 
Alex King, Army West Point, Sr., F, 6-8, 200, Columbus, Ind./Columbus North
2020-21 Stats: 11.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, .538 FG%, .337 3PT%
King helped lead Army West Point to a 12-10 season, advancing to the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship semifinal round. He averaged 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, while posting a 20-point, nine-rebound performance to lead the Black Knights to a quarterfinal-round victory over American. The Columbus, Ind. native eclipsed 1,000 career points in Army West Point’s semifinal game against Loyola Maryland on March 10.
 
Devon Goodman, Penn, Gr., G, Laverock, Pa./Germantown Academy
2019-20 Stats: 13.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.6 spg, .452 FG%
Goodman graduated from Penn in May of 2020 are earning second-team All-Big 5 and honorable mention All-Ivy League honors following the 2019-20 season. Last season, he finished second among Ivy League players in steals per game (1.6) and ninth in assists (3.1) and field-goal percentage (.452).
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE HISTORY IN THE 3X3U NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Patriot League has had an entry in the 3X3U National Championship in each of the tournament’s three seasons. In 2017-18 the Patriot League was represented by Bucknell guard Stephen Brown and forward Zach Thomas, Colgate forward Jordan Swopshire and Lehigh guard Kahron Ross. The League was represented by Bucknell’s Kimbal Mackenzie, Holy Cross’s Jehyve Floyd and Lehigh’s Kyle Leufroy and Lance Tejada.
 
ABOUT THE 2021 3X3U NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
This year’s event will take place at The Pavilion, a multi-purpose space in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. It is equipped to not only serve as the ideal backdrop to host this year’s Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship, but also provide a spacious layout to adhere to physical distancing recommendations as well as local and national health and safety protocols. This year’s event will not be open to the public. The Tournament has created COVID-19 protocols that are consistent with local guidelines and designed to maximize the health and safety of participating players. The plan includes multiple rounds of testing for participating players, along with physical distancing recommendations and other health and safety measures that adhere to local regulations.
