Crusaders and Rams continue to roll; Crusaders’ Haskins and Hoyas’ Gudger tie special teams records

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 16 Fordham outscored Lehigh 23-7 in the second half to secure a 40-28 comeback victory to improve to 2-0 in League play.
*Senior quarterback Tim DeMorat completed 26-for-37 for 499 yards, one interception and four touchdowns, while senior wide receiver MJ Wright caught four passes for a career-high 226 yards and two touchdowns.
*Lehigh junior quarterback Dante Perri completed 19-of-46 passes for 185 yards, one interception and two TDs, while freshman wide receiver Geoffrey Jamiel had five catches for 57 yards.
*Lehigh senior wide receiver Jalen Burbage returned the game-opening kickoff 89 yards to give the Mountain Hawks a 7-0 lead.
*Three minutes later, senior defensive lineman Stephon Bland recorded a strip sack, and senior defensive lineman Dean Colton returned the fumble for a score to extend the lead to 14-0.
*The Rams struck back quickly, scoring 17 straight points on a 42-yard touchdown run by sophomore running back Julius Loughridge, a 48-yard touchdown pass from DeMorat to senior wide receiver MJ Wright and a 24-yard field goal by junior placekicker Brandon Peskin.
*Perri completed a six-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Eric Johnson before the half to give Lehigh a 21-17 lead at the break.
*The Rams took over in the third quarter, as DeMorat completed touchdown passes to junior wide receiver Mekai Felton and Wright to take a 31-21 lead.
*After a Fordham field goal, Perri capped a 17-play, 80-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Connor Kennedy to bring the Mountain Hawks within six points.
*DeMorat answered with less than 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, finding Wright on a 79-yard touchdown pass to seal the Rams’ win.
*Sophomore linebacker James Conway led the Rams with nine tackles and 2.0 TFLs, while graduate student linebacker Ryan Greenhagen added seven tackles, 2.0 TFLs and one sack. Graduate student defensive back Natani Drati recorded an interception.
*Sixth-year linebacker Nate Norris posted a game-high 11 tackles, and junior linebacker Mike DeNucci finished with eight tackles, 3.0 TFLs and two sacks. He has seven sacks in his last three games. Junior defensive back Donovan Thomas had one interception for Lehigh.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior quarterback Matthew Sluka threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 72 yards, and another scored to lead No. 10/9 Holy Cross to a 57-0 victory over Bucknell at the EBW Classic at Polar Park.
*Sluka’s three touchdown passes went to senior wide receivers Spencer Gilliam and Dominik Thomas and junior wide receiver Jalen Coker. Coker caught five passes for 88 yards and scored in his sixth-consecutive game.
*Sophomore running back Jordan Fuller carried 11 times for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
*Crusaders’ senior cornerback Devin Haskins blocked his third punt in as many weeks and returned it for an eight-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He added three tackles and an interception.
*Haskins’ three blocked punts tied him for the Patriot League single-season record with Colgate’s Brandon Tinson (2000) and Georgetown’s Hunter Kiselick (2016).
*Sophomore safety Curtis Harris-Lopez finished with a team-leading five tackles, 2.0 TFLs and one sack for a loss of 17 yards.
*Bucknell junior running back Danny Meuser led the Bison offense with 73 yards on 14 carries. He also caught one pass for five yards.
*Senior safety Brent Jackson of Bucknell recorded a game-high nine tackles, while senior cornerback Gavin Pringle finished with two pass breakups and four tackles.
*Sophomore cornerback Chris Sims recorded his first collegiate interception for the Bison.

WASHINGTON – Georgetown freshman running back Mason Gudger returned a pair of third-quarter kickoffs for touchdowns, but the Hoyas fell to Penn 58-28 at Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon.
*Gudger returned the opening kickoff of the third quarter for 94 yards, bringing GU within three points at 24-21. Midway through the frame, he returned a kickoff 89 yards for a score.
*The Greenville, Tenn. native became the second Patriot League player to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the same game, joining Bucknell’s Dante Ross, who accomplished the feat in 2004 against GU. The Hoyas’ freshman tied for the League’s single-season, and career records for touchdowns scored on kickoff returns in one quarter.
*Georgetown senior quarterback Pierce Holley threw for 245 yards, one interception and one touchdown, completing 25-of-34 pass attempts.
*Graduate student wide receiver Joshua Tomas had a team-high eight catches for 91 yards, while senior wide receiver Dorrian Moultrie had seven catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.
*Junior defensive back David Ealey III and graduate student linebacker Justin Fonteneaux had 10 tackles apiece. Fonteneaux added 1.5 TFLs.

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette could not hang with Princeton, falling to the Tigers 23-2 in their final non-League game of the season at Fisher Stadium.
*Leopards’ senior linebacker Marco Olivas had a game-high 12 tackles and a half TFL, while junior defensive back A.T. Ntantang and sophomore defensive back Saiku White had 11 tackles apiece.
*Senior defensive lineman Malik Hamm finished with five tackles, two sacks and a blocked kick. The Baltimore, Md. native moved to seventh on the Patriot League career sacks list with 28.5.
*The Leopards got on the board in the second quarter after Hamm blocked an extra-point attempt, and freshman defensive back Byron Johnson returned it for two points.
*Junior quarterback Rent Montie completed 15-of-28 passes for 111 yards and an interception in his second start this season.
