BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University graduate students Sukhmail Mathon and Javante McCoy will team with a pair of Ivy League student-athletes to compete in the 2022 3X3U National Championship, scheduled for Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3, at The Sugar Mill in New Orleans.
The three-day event will be televised by ESPN2, ESPNU or streamed via Twitter by following
@3X3UHoops. The Patriot League – Ivy League team (Wicked Smahts) will play in Pool B against teams from the Mountain West - Western Athletic Conference (Rocky Mountain Range), Big Sky – Big West (Western Sky-Walkers) and Colonial – Northeast Conferences (Colonial Con-NEC-tion). Mathon earned Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Year honors after finishing among the NCAA DI leaders with 10.2 rebounds per game. He also finished sixth in the League in scoring with 15.1 points per game, helping him finish eighth in the nation with 18 double-doubles. McCoy is a three-time All-Patriot League honoree, garnering first-team accolades this season after finishing among the League leaders in scoring (17.4 ppg) and 3-point field goal percentage (.425).
The Boston University duo will be joined by Brown forward Tamenong Choh and Yale guard Azar Swain. At Yale, Swain plays for James Jones, the brother of Boston University Head Coach Joe Jones.
