WEST POINT, N.Y. – Freshman forward Ethan Roberts scored a game-high 20 points, and junior forward Charlie Peterson added 19 to lead Army West Point to a 72-60 victory over previously undefeated American at Christl Arena.
*Roberts connected on 5-of-8 from the floor, 2-for-3 from long distance and a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Peterson grabbed a team-high eight boards for a Black Knights that never trailed after the 17:11 mark in the first half.
*Reigning Patriot League Player of the Week Jalen Rucker added 15 points, six assists and five rebounds for Army.
*Junior guard Colin Smalls came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points. He also added two assists and two steals.
*Junior forward Matt Rogers and sophomore guard Elijah Stephens contributed 12 points apiece for the Eagles. Rogers recorded two blocks, and Stephens had two steals.
