BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Georgetown collected two of the four Patriot League football weekly awards when the League office announced honorees on Monday. Colgate and Fordham earned one accolade apiece.
Georgetown fifth-year quarterback Tyler Knoop picked up his first Patriot League Football Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for a career-high 332 yards and a touchdown in the Hoyas’ 17-7 victory over Lehigh to improve to 2-0 in League play. Freshman defensive back Zeraun Daniel received rookie of the week honors after finishing with four tackles and an interception against the Mountain Hawks.
Fordham junior defensive lineman Matt Jaworski was named Patriot League Football Defensive Player of the Week after registering a pair of strip sacks that led to Rams’ touchdowns in a 26-7 win over Stony Brook.
Colgate senior placekicker Jacob Jaworski claimed Patriot League Football Special Teams Player of the Week after connecting on the game-winning field goal against the Big Green in overtime. He accounted for nine points in the win.
Bucknell senior defensive end Tyler Alston and senior running back Coleman Bennett, Colgate senior defensive back Owen Goss and sophomore quarterback Zach Osborne, and Fordham junior running back Julius Loughridge and senior placekicker Brandon Peskin all received honorable mentions for their performances on Saturday.
The Patriot League football players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s football athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Knoop completed 26-of-32 passes for a career-high 332 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 41 yards in the Hoyas’ 17-7 victory at Lehigh to improve to 2-0 in League play for the first time since 2018.
*He threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver Jimmy Kibble at the 5:45 mark of the first quarter.
*Knoop led an 11-play, 76-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter to help seal the Hoyas’ victory.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Matt Jaworski, Fordham, Jr., DL, Buffalo, N.Y./St. Francis
*Jaworski finished with three tackles and two sacks in Fordham’s 26-7 win over Stony Brook.
*Both of Jaworski’s sacks were strip sacks that were recovered by the Rams, leading to touchdowns.
*He helped the Fordham’s defense limit the Seawolves to 27 net rushing yards.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jacob Jaworski, Colgate, Sr., PK, Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends
*Jaworski connected on a game-winning field goal from 20 yards in overtime to lift Colgate to a 27-24 win over Dartmouth.
*The senior placekicker accounted for nine points, including a 29-yard field goal in the second quarter, and going 3-for-3 on PATs.
*The Wilmington, Del. native is second in the Patriot League with six field goals on eight attempts this season.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FOOTBALL ROOKIE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zeraun Daniel, Georgetown, Fr., DB, Brooklyn, N.Y./Poly Prep Country Day
*Daniel made four solo tackles and recorded an interception in Georgetown’s 17-7 victory over Lehigh.
*He intercepted a pass in the third quarter to help set up a field goal that gave the Hoyas a 10-7 lead.
*The Brooklyn, N.Y. native is tied for the Patriot League lead with two interceptions this season
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Tyler Alston, Bucknell, Sr., DE, Downingtown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll
*Alston finished with a team-leading eight tackles, 1.5 TFLs, a half sack and a quarterback hurry in Bucknell’s 21-13 win over Cornell. His half-sack helped stop the Big Red on its final drive of the game.
Coleman Bennett, Bucknell, Sr., RB, Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons
Bennett rushed for a career-high 157 yards on 29 carries to lead the Bison to a 21-13 victory over Cornell on Saturday. His 29 carries were the most by a Bucknell player since 2016, while his 157 rushing yards were the most since 2017.
Owen Goss, Colgate, Sr., DB, Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central
*Goss recorded a career-high 11 tackles and 1.0 TFL to lead Colgate’s defense in a 27-24 overtime victory over Dartmouth. He made 10 solo tackles, including three in overtime, to help the Raiders win their second straight game against an Ivy League opponent.
Zach Osborne, Colgate, So., QB, Carmel, Ind./Carmel
*Osborne completed 27-of-38 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in Colgate’s 27-24 overtime victory over Dartmouth. He also rushed 10 times for 31 yards and a touchdown, marking his second-consecutive game with three or more scores.
Julius Loughridge, Fordham, Jr., RB, Houston, Texas/Mayde Creek
*Loughridge rushed for 154 yards and two second-half touchdowns on 24 carries in Fordham’s 26-7 win over Stony Brook. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry and recorded his second straight 100-yard rushing performance and fourth of the season.
