BETHLEHEM, Pa. – American clinched the Patriot League field hockey regular-season title and the top seed in the Patriot League Championship after defeating Boston University, 2-0, on Saturday. The Eagles will host the four-team field at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex when the semifinal round begins on Thursday, Nov. 2.
Lafayette (11-5, 5-1) claimed the No. 2 seed in the four-team championship after defeating Lehigh, 2-1, on Friday evening. Boston University (8-9, 3-3 PL) and Bucknell (8-8, 3-3 PL) earned the third and fourth seeds, respectively.

The Eagles and head coach Steve Jennings earned their 13th regular-season title since joining the Patriot League in 2001. They will host No. 4 Bucknell and second-year head coach Kelsey Kolojejchick at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Washington, D.C. American downed the Bison, 2-1, in a penalty shootout in their regular-season meeting on Oct. 7.
Lafayette and head coach Jennifer Stone claimed the No. 2 seed and will take Head Coach Sally Starr and No. 3 Boston University at 2 p.m. in the second semifinal match-up. The Leopards picked up a 1-0 victory at Boston University to clinch a berth in the postseason on Oct. 14.
Both matches in the semifinal round on Nov. 2 and the 2023 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship Game on Saturday, Nov. 4, will be available on ESPN+.
