Raiders clinch regular-season crown; Holy Cross, Lafayette, Loyola and Navy all earn victories

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate (19-8, 13-1 PL) clinched the Patriot League men’s basketball regular-season title and the top-seed in the 2023 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship.
 
The Raiders victory over Bucknell and losses by Army West Point and Lehigh sealed their spot as the top-seed in the League championship and a bye in the first round (Feb. 28). Colgate has won at least a share of the last four Patriot League regular-season titles. The League did not crown a regular-season champion in 2020-21.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior guard Tucker Richardson finished with 19 points, five steals, four rebounds and four assists in Colgate’s 76-56 victory over Bucknell to sweep the season series and improve to 13-1 in League play.
*Senior forward Keegan Records added 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor to help the Raiders shoot 50 percent (30-of-60) for the contest.
*The Raiders’ turned 14 steals into 22 points from turnovers and finished with a 15-0 advantage on fastbreak points.
*Colgate senior forward Ryan Moffatt pulled down a game-high eight rebounds and added eight points.
*Bucknell junior center Andre Screen led the Bison with 10 points, six boards and four blocks.
*Senior guard Xander Rice added eight points and three assists for the Bison.

*Senior forward Leo O’Boyle finished with 17 points and four rebounds to celebrate his Senior Day at Kirby Sports Center.
*Boston University graduate student forward Walter Whyte led the Terriers with 20 points and six rebounds.

*Nelson connected on 9-of-15 from the floor while finishing with nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
*Senior forward Daniel Deaver added 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while senior guard Sean Yoder contributed 11 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Mids.
*Navy junior guard Austin Inge finished with 10 points on 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.
*Army West Point freshman guard Ethan Roberts led the Black Knights with 17 points, while junior guard Jalen Rucker added 12 points and four assists.

*Montgomery connected on 7-of-13 from the floor and 2-of-3 from long range while adding seven rebounds, five steals and three assists.
*Freshman guard Will Batchelder added 18 points, and senior guard Gerrale Gates posted 17 points, six steals and five rebounds. Junior guard Joe Octave chipped in 14 points for Holy Cross.
*American junior guard Colin Smalls scored a team-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting off the bench.
*Junior forwards Matt Rogers and Johnny O’Neil finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively, and eight rebounds apiece. Rogers also had a team-high five assists.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freshman guard Deon Perry scored 19 of his career-high 28 points in the second half to lift Loyola Maryland to a 91-82 victory over Lehigh at Stabler Arena.
*Perry connected on 6-of-11 from 3-point range, for a Greyhounds squad that made 10-of-17 attempts from long range.
*Graduate student guard Jaylin Andrews added 19 points, while junior forward Alonso Faure posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards to help the Greyhounds split the season series with Lehigh.
*Sophomore guard Chris Kuzemka finished with 10 points on 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc, while senior forward Golden Dike added six points and 10 boards, including five on the offensive glass.
*Loyola Maryland held an 11-2 edge on the offensive boards and finished with a 14-4 advantage on second-chance points.
*Lehigh sophomore guard Keith Higgins Jr. led four Mountain Hawks in double-figures with 23 points. Classmate Tyler Whitney-Sidney added 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
*Junior forward Dominic Parolin and senior guard Evan Taylor contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively.
