Leopards hold off Crusaders in CBS Sports Network matchup

WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman forward Josh Rivera led Lafayette with 25 points and five rebounds in a 72-58 victory over Holy Cross to sweep the season series on Monday night.
*Rivera connected on 11-of-18 from the field, while sophomore guard CJ Fulton added six points, nine rebounds and five steals in the Leopards’ victory.
*Lafayette sophomore center Justin Vander Baan recorded his first collegiate double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
*The Leopards connected on 51.9 percent (27-of-52) from the floor while outscoring the Crusaders in the paint, 34-12. Lafayette’s bench also held a 19-point scoring advantage over Holy Cross’s reserves.
*Crusaders’ freshman guard Will Batchelder scored a career-high 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting from 3-point range. His eight made 3-pointers tied Colgate’s Tucker Richardson for a Patriot League season-high.
*Junior guard Joe Octave finished with 13 points and five rebounds for Holy Cross.
