BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 9 Loyola Maryland defeated No. 8 Lafayette, 61-52, and No. 7 American outlasted No. 10 Navy 78-71 in the first round of the 2023 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Basketball Championship on Saturday evening.
The Greyhounds advance to take on No. 1 Boston University at Case Gym in Boston, Mass at 6 p.m. The Eagles will meet No. 2 seed Holy Cross at Hart Center in Worcester, Mass at 7 p.m.
No. 3 Lehigh will host No. 6 Bucknell (6 p.m.) while No. 4 Colgate welcomes No. 5 Army West Point on Monday, March 6 (7 p.m.).
All four quarterfinal-round games will be streamed on
ESPN+.

* Therien added 21 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
* Graduate student Taleah Dixon finished with 12 points, while freshman guard Kelly Ratigan scored 10 points.
* Lafayette junior guard Makayla Andrews led the Leopards with 14 points, while junior guard Makayla Andrews scored 13 points.
* Freshman guard Kay Donahue added 11 points and six rebounds.

*American junior guard Kayla Henning led the Eagles with 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
*Senior forward Lauren Stack chipped in 17 points and junior forward Emily Johns scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards.
*Junior guard Ivy Bales tallied 13 points, nine assists and two steals.
*Navy senior forward Lindsay Llewellyn (19), junior guard Sydne Watts (17), junior guard Sam Schofield (11), and freshman guard Maren Louridas (10) all scored in double-figures.
