Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced (4.11.23)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University and Lehigh claimed two Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards each when the League announced honors on Tuesday. Bucknell and Colgate each collected one weekly honor.
 
Bucknell’s Meghan Quinn was named Patriot League Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after posting a time of 11.80 in the 100 meters, finishing 0.11 seconds behind her school record set last week for the second fastest time in the Patriot League. Boston University senior Foster Malleck won the men’s track athlete of the week after posting a time of 3:44.80 in the 1,500-meter race at the Duke Invitational.
 
Lehigh sophomore Liam Lovering collected Patriot League Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after winning the discus at the Lehigh Games with a mark of 50.58m. Colgate senior Dominique Groguhe was named women’s field athlete of the week, claiming first place in the discus with a mark of 47.67m to set a school record.
 
Lehigh first-year Laura Reigle was named Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week after finishing first in the pole vault, clearing a school record-breaking mark of 4.00m at the Lehigh Games meet. Boston University freshman Parker Schneider was named men’s rookie of the week after winning his race in the open 1,500 meters, posting a time of 3:48.65 at the Duke Invitational.
 
Boston University’s Vera Sjöberg and Cole Tucker, Bucknell’s Robert Feeney and Brylee Tereska, Holy Cross’s Eve Feuerbach and Mike Mazzocca, and Navy’s Hannah Lowenstein and Dane Vernor all received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Foster Malleck, Boston University, Sr., Distance, Kitchener, Ont. / St. Mary’s
*Malleck finished 12th in the 1,500 meters invite race at the Duke Invitational with an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:44.80.
*His time currently ranks second in the League and 55th in NCAA Division I this season.
 
Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Meghan Quinn, Bucknell, Jr., Sprinter, Lititz, Pa. / Warwick
*Quinn finished first in the 100 meters (11.80) and as part of the 4x100m relay (47.20) at the Lehigh Games with times that were ECAC qualifying for both events.
*Her time in the 100 meters is currently the second fastest in the Patriot League this season.

Patriot League Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Liam Lovering, Lehigh, So., Throws, Ellicott City, Md. / Centennial
*Lovering claimed first at the Lehigh Games in the discus with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 50.58m.
*His mark is currently ranked fourth in the Patriot League this season.
 
Patriot League Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Dominique Groguhe, Colgate, Sr., Throws, Port Reading, N.J. / Woodbridge
*Groguhe earned first in the discuss at the Pioneer Spring Invite with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 47.67m.
*Her throw is currently ranked second in the League and set a new Colgate school record.
 
Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Week
Parker Schneider, Boston University, Fr., Distance, Durand, Wis. / Durand-Arkansaw High School
*Schneider finished first in the open division 1,500-meter race at the Duke Invitational with an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:48.65.
*His 1,500-meter time ranks fifth in the Patriot League this season

Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week
Laura Reigle, Lehigh, Fy., Pole Vault, Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton Central
*Reigle claimed first at the Lehigh Games in the pole vault, clearing a mark of 4.00m, qualifying for ECAC’s.
*Her mark is currently the best in the League, tied for the 56th in the nation, and broke the Lehigh school record.

*Sjöberg finished 14th in the 1,500 meters at the Duke Invitational with and ECAC-qualifying time of 4:25.69, in the League this season.
 
Cole Tucker, Boston University, So., Throws, Colts Neck, N.J. / Colts Neck
*Tucker claimed seventh in shot put at the Duke Invitational with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 16.07m that ranks fifth in the League this season. 
 
Robert Feeney, Bucknell, Jr., Throws, Waverly Township, Pa. / Scranton Prep
*Feeney earned first in the hammer throw at the Lehigh Games with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 56.09m that ranks sixth in the League this season.
 
Brylee Tereska, Bucknell, Fr., Throws, Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty
*Tereska finished first in the javelin throw at the Lehigh Games with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 44.04m that currently ranks fifth in the League this season.
 
Eve Feuerbach, Holy Cross, Sr., Distance, Manchester, Mass. / Manchester-Essex
*Feuerbach placed first at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational in the 5,000 meters with an ECAC-qualifying time of 16:58.17. Her mark ranks fourth in the League and set a Holy Cross program record in the event.

*Mazzocca claimed first in the 110-meter hurdles at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational with an IC4A-qualifying time of 14.41 that ranks third in the Patriot League this season.
 
Hannah Lowenstein, Navy, Jr., Jumps, Pompano Beach, Fla. / St. Thomas Aquinas
*Lowenstein finished second at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 1.70m, currently tied for third in the League.
 
Dane Vernor, Navy, Jr., Throws, Ennis, Texas / Ennis
*Vernor earned first in the hammer throw at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 58.02m that currently ranks fifth in the Patriot League.
