Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week Announced (4.10.23)

Boston University earned two weekly honors; Army, Lehigh and Loyola Maryland all received one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University received two Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse weekly awards when the League office announced honors on Monday. No. 15 Army West Point, Lehigh and No. 11 Loyola Maryland earned one apiece.
 
Boston University junior Quinn Ferry picked up Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Defender of the Week for the first time after posting two ground balls and two caused turnovers in the Terriers’ 12-11 upset victory over then-No. 20 Navy. Junior Reilly Agres claimed her third goalkeeper of the week honor after making 10 saves in BU’s win against the Mids.
 
Lehigh senior Gabby Schneider collected Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Week for the first time after recording 12 points on 10 goals and two assists during the Mountain Hawks’ 1-1 week, including a 16-11 win over American.
 
Loyola Maryland graduate student Jillian Wilson claimed her second straight Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Week award, her third of the season. She finished with five goals, one assist and seven draw controls in the Greyhounds’ 23-4 win over Colgate.
 
Army West Point freshman Brigid Duffy was named Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season. She posted eight points on three goals and five assists with seven draw controls, five ground balls and five caused turnovers to help the Black Knights split a pair of games last week, including a win over Bucknell.
 
Army West Point senior attack Kathleen Sullivan, Boston University sophomore attack Matty Spaeth, Bucknell sophomore attack Allie Boyce, Holy Cross senior midfielder Christine Fabrizi, Lafayette junior goalkeeper Lexie Coldiron, Lehigh senior midfielder Emma Eberhardt, Loyola Maryland graduate student defender Katie Detwiler, sophomore attack Georgia Latch and sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Spence all received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League women’s lacrosse players of the week were selected in a vote by League women’s lacrosse communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
Gabby Schneider, Lehigh, Sr., Attack, Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East
*Schneider totaled 12 points on 10 goals and two assists to help Lehigh split a pair of games, including a 16-11 win over American on Saturday.
*She led Lehigh with five goals, one assist and three ground balls in the victory over the Eagles to improve to 3-3 in League play.
*The senior attacker finished with five goals, one assist, one ground ball and one caused turnover in the Mountain Hawks’ loss against Penn on Wednesday.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Jillian Wilson, Loyola Maryland, Gr., Midfielder, Hampstead, Md./Gerstell Academy
*Wilson scored five goals, dished out one assist and had seven draw controls in the Greyhounds’ 23-4 victory over Colgate on Saturday.
*She accounted for four points on three goals and one assist in Loyola Maryland’s first five goals to help build an 11-2 first-quarter lead.
*The Hampstead, Md. native eclipsed 200 career points during her six-point performance against the Raiders.  
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinn Ferry, Boston University, Jr., Defender, Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East
*Ferry finished with four ground balls and two caused turnovers to help Boston University split a pair of games last week, including a victory over No. 20 Navy.
*The Doylestown, Pa. native recorded two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the Terriers’ 12-11 win over the Mids.
*She also had two ground balls in a loss against UMass Lowell on Wednesday.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Reilly Agres, Boston University, Jr., Goalkeeper, Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale
*Agres made 17 saves and picked up three ground balls in two games to help Boston University split a pair of games last week, including a victory over then-No. 20 Navy.
*She made 10 saves, including five in the fourth quarter, to help the Terriers hold on against the Mids. She also picked up one ground ball.
*The Farmingdale, N.Y. native made seven saves and picked up two ground balls in a loss vs. UMass Lowell.  
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Fr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy posted eight points on three goals and five assists with seven draw controls, five ground balls and five caused turnovers to help the Black Knights split a pair of games last week, including a win over Bucknell.
*She finished with one goal, four assists, three draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 14-13 loss against No. 13 Yale on Tuesday.
*The freshman midfielder recorded two goals, one assist, four draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 15-7 win over Bucknell.
 
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Kathleen Sullivan, Army West Point, Sr., Attack, Annapolis, Md./South River
*Sullivan recorded nine assists and one goal in Army West Point’s two games, including a win vs. Bucknell on Saturday. She posted five assists against No. 13 Yale before breaking the Black Knights’ career points record with one goal and four assists against the Bison.

*Spaeth scored four goals on five shots, including the game-winner in the Terriers’ 12-11 victory over then-No. 20 Navy. She also had two assists and picked up three ground balls in a loss against UMass Lowell on Wednesday.
 
Allie Boyce, Bucknell, So., Attack, Falls Church, Va./Georgetown Visitation Prep
*Boyce scored four goals and had one ground ball in Bucknell’s loss against then-No. 14 Army West Point.

*Fabrizi matched the team lead with three goals, including the game-winner in Holy Cross’s 11-10 victory over Lafayette on Saturday. The senior midfielder also added one draw control, one ground ball and one caused turnover in the win.

*Coldiron made a season-high 17 saves and posted a .607 save percentage while facing 44 shots in a loss against Holy Cross.

*Eberhardt recorded three goals, two assists and seven draw controls in Lehigh’s 16-11 victory over American on Saturday. On Wednesday, she also had one assist and seven draw controls in the Mountain Hawks’ loss against Penn.

*Detwiler had seven draw controls and one caused turnover in the Greyhounds’ 23-4 win over Colgate. She held the Raiders’ leading scorer without a goal.

*Latch finished with a team-high seven points on four goals and three assists in Loyola Maryland’s 23-4 victory over Colgate on Saturday. The game was her third straight with at least three assists.

*Spence made seven saves and allowed three goals in the Greyhounds’ 23-4 victory over Colgate. She also picked up three ground balls.
