Patriot League Announces Women’s Rowing Boat of the Week (4.5.23)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The MIT Varsity Eight boat was named the Patriot League Boat of the Week as the League announced the accolade on Wednesday.
 
The Holy Cross Varsity Eight boat received an honorable mention nod.

Other Teams: UC San Diego, Stanford, Loyola Marymount, University of San Diego
* The MIT Varsity Eight finished second in the UCSD Cal Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic with a time of 7:09.307.
* The team trimmed over 4.5 seconds off its time from the Saturday heats, while in the finals, the Engineers finished in front of the Stanford boat by a .145-second margin.
* The boat members were Emelie Eldracher (coxswain), Ella Gersack, Tatum Wilhelm, Portia Gaitskell, Arina Khotimsky, Julia Contini, Stephanie Hulme, Abby Dulski, and Anna Meurer.

Regatta: Manhattan, Marist, Fairfield (Overpeck Park)
* The Holy Cross Varsity Eight raced to a first-place finish with a time of 7.34 last weekend.
* The squad finished 7.504 seconds ahead of Marist.
* The boat members included Maddie Flynn (coxswain), Isabella Bokan, Ellen Anne Foy, Kate Driscoll, Jenna Roane, Lauren Colby, Jane Doyle, Grace Rotering, and Josie Ascione.
