COACH SANDERS POSTRACE INTERVIEW
AUSTIN, Texas – In the final race of her sophomore season,
Daisy Liljegren of the Boston University track & field team placed 16th in the 10,000m race to earn Second Team All-America distinction at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Her time of 34:13.36 marks the third occurrence this season she ran under 34:15. Her USTFCCCA Second Team All-America status, which is awarded to those who finish in 9th to 16th place, backs up her performance at the 2022 national championship in which she was an All-America Honorable Mention.
A native of Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, Liljegren is the first BU woman to earn All-America honors in the 10K since Katie Matthews ('13) finished fifth in 2013 and is the first BU woman overall since Allison Barwise ('14) took sixth in the high jump in 2014.
Liljegren will be back in action in the fall when the BU cross country teams begin their 2023 season.
