BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its 23-sport League championship for the 2023-24 academic year.
The 2023 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships are the first events on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.

FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Regular-season competition will determine the sites for field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball. The 2023 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship will be hosted by the tournament’s No. 1 seed, beginning with semifinal-round action on Thursday, Nov. 2. The championship game is set for Saturday, Nov. 4.
The women’s soccer quarterfinal round begins on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the home site of the tournament’s No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The semifinal contests on Thursday, Nov. 2, will be hosted by the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, with the championship game taking place at the highest-remaining seed on Sunday, Nov. 5.
The men’s soccer championship will follow the same format, with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the home site of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. Semifinal-round action will continue on Tuesday, Nov. 7, with the championship game hosted by the highest-remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The six-team Patriot League Volleyball Championship starts on Tuesday, Nov. 14, with quarterfinal-round matches at the home of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The top seed will host the semifinal round (Nov. 17) and championship match (Nov. 19).
WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Patriot League winter championship season begins with the four-day men’s and women’s swimming and diving championships beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and concluding on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the U.S. Naval Academy’s Lejeune Hall. The 2023-24 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship will be hosted at Boston University’s Track and Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25.
Home sites for the 2023-24 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will be determined by seeding. The men’s basketball championship first round is Tuesday, March 5, at the home court of the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds. The top four seeds in the tournament earn home games in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 7, before the two highest-remaining seeds host the semifinal-round games on Sunday, March 10. The Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship Game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, at the home of the highest-remaining seed.
The first round of the women’s basketball championship is Saturday, March 9, at the home of the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds. The four highest seeds will host a game in the quarterfinal round on Monday, March 11, with the two highest-remaining seeds at home for the semifinal round on Thursday, March 14. The Patriot League Women’s Basketball Championship Game will be played at the home of the highest seed on Sunday, March 17.
SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Destinations for seven of the Patriot League’s 11 spring championship sports have been determined. The U.S. Naval Academy will host the women’s tennis championship from Thursday, April 18, through Sunday, April 21. The men’s tennis championship will be played the following weekend (April 25-28) at the U.S. Military Academy. The 2024 Patriot League Women’s Golf Championship will be played over three days (April 19-21) at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa. The men’s golf championship will be hosted by Lehigh University at Saucon Valley Country Club (April 26-28).
The 2024 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will occur from May 3-4 at Bucknell University’s Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship returns to the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., on Friday, May 17.
Host sites for the four remaining spring championships will be determined by regular-season competition. The women’s lacrosse championship begins with a pair of quarterfinal-round games on Sunday, April 28, at the home of the third and fourth seeds. The top seed will host the semifinal round (May 2) and championship game (May 4). The men’s lacrosse championship begins at the homes of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, with quarterfinal games on Tuesday, April 30. The No. 1 seed will host the semifinals (May 3) and championship game (May 5).
The top seed will host the 2023 Patriot League Softball Championship beginning on Thursday, May 9. The double-elimination format will conclude on Saturday, May 11. The top two seeds will host the best-of-three-game Patriot League Baseball Championship semifinals from May 11-12. The best-of-three-game championship series will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed beginning on Friday, May 17 and continuing to Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, if necessary.
