WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman guard Kahlil Singleton scored a game-high 18 off the bench to help Holy Cross to a 65-63 victory over Boston University in the Turnpike Trophy matchup on CBS Sports Network.
*Singleton connected on consecutive 3-pointers to put the Crusaders in front for the first time in the game during a 13-0 run midway through the second half. Holy Cross held BU scoreless for more than seven minutes, turning a four-point deficit into a nine-point lead with 7:21 left in regulation
*Holy Cross junior forward Caleb Kenney recorded his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 boards while posting a career-high seven blocked shots.
*The Terriers stormed back late, with junior guard Ethan Okwuosa’s layup and a pair of free throws from senior guard Miles Brewster capping a 9-2 run to make it a one-point game with seven seconds left.
*The Crusaders’ Bo Montgomery connected on a free throw, one of his 15 points, with five seconds on the clock, but the Terriers could not manage a shot before time ran out.
*Brewster led the Terriers with 13 points, connecting on 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and grabbing four boards.
*Boston University freshman guard Kyrone Alexander led the Terriers with 12 points and seven boards, while Okwuosa chipped in 10 points.
