BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy collected both Patriot League women’s volleyball weekly awards when the League office unveiled the honors on Tuesday.
Navy freshman outside hitter Farrah Fike collected Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Player and Rookie of the Week honors after recording 27 kills, the most by a Patriot League student-athlete this season, and a .396 hitting percentage in the Mids’ five-set victory over Lafayette.
Student-athletes earning honorable mentions for their performances last week were American senior middle blocker Lilou Stegeman and freshman middle blocker Elise Sterling, Army West Point junior outside hitter Chloe Murakami, Colgate sophomore outside hitter Milan Bayless and first-year right-side hitter Tiana Owens, Lehigh sophomore right-side hitter Jaidyn Garcia and first-year setter Kamryn Utley.

Farrah Eike, Navy, Fr., OH, Parker, Colo./Valor Christian
*Eike dominated offensively in Navy’s five-set victory over Lafayette as she finished with 27 kills on a .396 hitting percentage and two digs. The Parker, Colo. native broke her own Navy record for the most kills by a freshman in a match since 2001, and her 27-kill performance is the most by a Patriot League student-athlete this season.
*In Patriot League matches, Eike ranks third in kills per set (3.60), fourth in points per set (3.70), eighth in kills (90), and ninth in points (92.5).
Honorable Mention
Lilou Stegeman, American, Sr., MB, Lutz, Fla./George Steinbrenner
*Stegeman posted 4.65 points per set to help lead American to a 3-1 win at Army on Saturday. She recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 blocks and 11 kills while hitting .364 for the match.
*The Lutz, Fla. native ranks second in the Patriot League in hitting percentage (.359), third in blocks (87) and sixth in blocks per set (1.07).
Elise Sterling, American, Fr., MB, Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg
*Sterling recorded eight kills, four blocks and one assist, while hitting .533 to help lead American to a 3-1 win at Army West Point on Saturday.
*The Orland Park, Ill. native ranks fourth in the Patriot League in hitting percentage (.349).
Chloe Murakami, Army West Point, Jr., OH, Chandler, Ariz./Basha
*Murakami registered a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs, to go along with two aces and a .314 hitting percentage in a 3-1 loss to American on Saturday.
Milan Bayless, Colgate, So., OH, La Mesa, Calif./Cathedral Catholic
*Bayless led Colgate to a 2-0 week, compiling a team-best 26 kills (3.25 kills per set) with a .323 hitting percentage while adding 14 digs (1.75 digs per set) and four blocks (2.0 blocks per set).
*The sophomore shined in the Raiders’ comeback 3-2 win over Loyola Maryland, posting 14 kills, six digs, and two blocks with a .306 hitting percentage. Earlier in the week, she hit .345 in Colgate's non-conference victory over Binghamton, with 12 kills and eight digs.
*Among Patriot League rankings, Bayless is fourth in points (243.5), fifth in kills (215), sixth in kills per set (3.16), and points per set (3.58).
Tiana Owens, Colgate, Fy., RS, El Cajon, Calif./Cathedral Classic
*In Colgate’s 2-0 week that featured wins over Binghamton (3-1) and Loyola Maryland (3-2), Owens registered 17 kills (1.89 kills per set), three blocks (0.33 blocks per set), nine digs (1.0 digs per set), and a .275 hitting percentage.
*The first-year was a spark plug in Colgate's comeback 3-2 win over the Greyhounds on Saturday, finishing with eight kills, five digs, and a .263 hitting clip. In the Raiders’ 3-1 victory over Binghamton, Owens racked up nine kills, two blocks, and four digs to go with a .286 hitting percentage.
Jaidyn Garcia, Lehigh, So., RS, Kennesaw, Ga./North Cobb
*Garcia tallied 11 kills on a .333 hitting percentage and five digs in a 3-0 sweep at Holy Cross on Saturday.

*Utley tallied her first career double-double with 20 assists and 10 digs in a 3-0 sweep of Holy Cross on Saturday.
