LEWISBURG, Pa. – No. 2 Bucknell (7-6-6, 4-1-4 PL) claimed the 2024 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men’s Soccer Championship on Saturday at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium, defeating No. 4 Colgate (8-9-3, 4-3-2 PL) by a score of 3-0.
The Bison earned their fifth Patriot League title and first since 2014, along with the League’s automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship.
Bucknell senior defender Aidan Lawlor was named Patriot League Tournament MVP and earned All-Tournament Team honors after playing all 90 minutes and anchoring a backline that limited Colgate to three shots on goal. Freshman forward Drew Roskos, sophomore midfielder David Krumov, and junior goalkeeper Freddie Lapworth also represented Bucknell on the All-Tournament Team.
Colgate had three All-Tournament selections: senior defender Jacob Blackwin, senior midfielder Mason Pahule, and senior forward Timmy Donavan.
American University’s junior forward Troy Elgersma and senior defender Cooper Nunn, along with Boston University’s junior defenders John Roman and Ryan Lau, completed the 11-member All-Patriot League Tournament Team.

LEWISBURG, Pa.- No.2 Bucknell (7-6-6, 4-1-4 PL) claimed the 2024 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League men’s soccer championship after defeating No. 4 Colgate (8-9-3, 4-3-2 PL) 3-0 on Saturday evening.

*The Bison struck early in the 11th minute as senior midfielder Waldemar Kattrup scored with a bending shot into the bottom left corner after receiving a pass just outside the box from sophomore defender Jack Lucas.
*In the 53rd minute, Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year Freddie Lapworth preserved the Bison's 1-0 lead with an open-field save.
*Freshman forward Drew Roskos extended the Bison's lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute, scoring off a second effort to find the back of the net.
*Senior defender Nick Prime came off the bench and scored in the 77th minute after capitalizing on a deflection, giving the Bison a 3-0 lead.
*Lapworth recorded three saves as the Bison backline held the Raiders to three shots on goal.
