2024 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Soccer Semifinal Preview (11.6.24)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 2024 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Soccer Championship continues Thursday, Nov. 6 with a pair of semifinal matches.

No. 3 Army West Point will face off against No. 2 Boston University at 6 p.m. from Nickerson Field, while No. 1 Bucknell will host No. 4 Loyola Maryland at 7 p.m. Both games will be available on ESPN+.

The semifinal round winners will meet in the 2024 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Soccer Championship Game on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 12:30 p.m. The title game will be played at the highest-remaining seed.

The Patriot League Women’s Soccer Championship Game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with Jason Knapp and Jenny Chiu providing the call.

For the first time since 2016, Bucknell is the No. 1 seed in the PedFed Credit Union Patriot League Women's Soccer Tournament as the Bison are set to play No. 4 Loyola Maryland on Thursday, November 7 at 7 p.m. Bucknell is 8-4-4 all-time against the Greyhounds and 8-1-4 in the last 13 games, including a 1-0 verdict earlier this year at Emmitt Field.

Loyola Maryland continues the postseason when they travel to face the Bucknell Bison in the Patriot League Semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. from Emmit Field. This contest will be the 17th matchup between the two programs, and the second meeting this season, as Bucknell defeated Loyola Maryland, 1-0, in Lewisburg, PA.

DeSmit continues to produce remarkable numbers this season with 16 goals and five assists in 17 games as the two-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year looks to lead the Greyhounds to the Patriot League title game for the first time in program history.
