BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Two Patriot League field hockey student-athletes received 2024 NCAA Division I All-America honors when it was announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).
Lafayette senior midfielder Lineke Spaans claimed NFHCA All-America First Team honors. She was named Patriot League Championship MVP after leading the Leopards to their first League title since 2012. Spaans is the first League field hockey student-athlete to receive First Team All-America honors since Boston University’s Ally Hammel was recognized in 2018 and the first in Lafayette program history. The four-time First Team All-Patriot League selection was a Second Team All-America honoree in 2023.
Bucknell senior forward Lily Neilson was named NFHCA All-America Third Team after becoming the first League student-athlete to earn Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year honors three times. The four-time first-team All-League selection finished her career second on the League’s career goals list with 60 while ranking eighth in League history with 126 points. Neilson was a Second Team All-America selection last season.
