BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell senior guard Jack Forrest was named 2023-24 Patriot League Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in addition to earning a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team when the League office announced accolades on Wednesday.
Forrest, an economics major with a 3.48 cumulative GPA, earned a spot on the All-Patriot League First Team when it was announced Monday after finishing among the League leaders in scoring with 16.0 points per game. The Lower Merion, Pa. native is the 10th different Bison to earn men’s basketball scholar-athlete of the year.
Lehigh senior forward Dominic Parolin (mathematics, 3.71 GPA) is a two-time Academic All-Patriot League Team selection, while Forrest, American senior forward Matt Rogers (business administration, 3.26 GPA), Boston University senior guard Miles Brewster (international relations, film & TV, 3.46 GPA), Colgate fifth-year forward Ryan Moffatt (economics & educational studies, 3.36 GPA) and Navy sophomore guard Austin Benigni (computer science, 3.42 GPA) all made the academic All-League squad for the first time.

*Forrest earned First Team All-Patriot League honors after finishing fourth among the League leaders in scoring (16.0 ppg) and first in minutes played (36.0 mpg). He also finished second in 3-point field goals made per game (2.6).

*The two-time Patriot League Player of the Week posted four 20-point games and two double-doubles this season
2023-24 Academic All-Patriot League Team*
All six Academic All-Patriot League selections were named to one of the three All-Patriot League squads on Monday. Forrest and American’s Rogers earned first-team honors. Boston University’s Brewster, Colgate’s Moffatt and Navy’s Benigni were selected to the second team and Lehigh’s Parolin was a third-team honoree.
Benigni (16.6 ppg, 3.8 apg), a three-time Patriot League Player of the Week, earned a spot on the Academic All-League squad in his first season of eligibility. He earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition following his freshman season and has received academic honors from the U.S. Naval Academy in two of his three semesters.
Brewster (10.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.2 apg) is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member and 2023 NABC Honors Court selection. He earned Boston University’s Scarlet Key Award, one of the school’s highest academic honors. Brewster also served on BU’s SAAC and helped the team integrate with Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams.
Moffatt (10.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg) is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree and two-time Academic Honor Roll selection. The fifth-year forward is an economics and educational studies double major, while serving as the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative for the men’s basketball team.
Parolin (11.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg), a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection, is a five-time Dean’s List recipient and earned Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District in 2023.
Rogers, a two-time All-Patriot League and League Academic Honor Roll selection finished third in the League in scoring (16.4 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (6.2 rpg).
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and be a starter or key player in their sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
The Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year winner for each sport comprises the pool of nominees for the Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards given out during the summer. One male and one female are selected for the honors.
