BALTIMORE – No. 1 Loyola Maryland and No. 2 Navy advanced to the 2024 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game after capturing semifinal-round victories at Ridley Athletic Complex on Thursday. The Greyhounds and Mids will meet in the League title game for the seventh time in 10 seasons.
 
The four-time defending League champion Greyhounds (16-2, 9-0 PL) advanced to the Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game for the 10th straight season, defeating No. 6 Lehigh (8-9, 3-6 PL), 18-0, in the first semifinal matchup of the day. Junior goalkeeper Lauren Spence made seven saves to record the first shutout in Patriot League Championship history and senior attack Sydni Black posted a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists.
 
No. 2 Navy (15-3, 8-1 PL) defeated No. 4 Holy Cross (12-6, 6-3 PL), 19-5, in the second semifinal matchup. The Mids held a 21-5 advantage on draw controls, while Tori DiCarlo and Emily Messinese scored four goals apiece.

*Senior attack Sydni Black, the Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Year, posted a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists, to go with six draw controls to help Loyola Maryland advance to the League title game for the 10th straight season.
*Junior attack Georgia Latch recorded four goals and graduate student attack Anna Ruby totaled four points on three goals and one assist for the Greyhounds.
*Lehigh graduate student attacker Gabby Schneider led the Mountain Hawks with three shots on goal and one caused turnover. Senior goalkeeper Hayley Hunt made eight saves.

BALTIMORE – Junior attack Tori DiCarlo and junior midfielder Emily Messinese scored four goals apiece to lead No. 2 Navy to a 19-5 semifinal victory over No. 4 Holy Cross to advance to Saturday’s Patriot League Championship Game.
*DiCarlo also added an assist for five points, while junior attack Lola Leone posted four points on three goals and one assist.
*The Mids controlled possession throughout the game, holding a 21-5 advantage on draw controls, with junior defender Alyssa Daley winning a game-high 14 draws, helping Navy outshoot the Crusaders, 42-16.
*Navy freshman goalkeeper Felicia Giglio made eight saves and allowed five goals to earn the win for the Mids.
*Freshman midfielder Annabel Brennan led the Crusaders with three goals on four shots. Junior attack Sally Zinsner added one goal and one assist.
