LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Navy Midshipmen swept the 2024 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships, claiming the men’s and women’s titles after the two-day meet at Christy Mathewson – Memorial Stadium hosted by Bucknell University.
The Navy men won their 10th straight Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field title, making it 11 in the program’s history, finishing with 295 points. Army West Point placed second with 215 points, while Boston University finished third with 116 points. Bucknell (63.5) and Lehigh (51) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while Holy Cross (48.5), Colgate (37), Lafayette (16), and American (15) completed the men’s standings.
Navy’s women earned their sixth-straight team title and the eighth in program history with 212.33 points. Army West Point (195.5) and Boston University (129.33) finished second and third, respectively. Bucknell placed fourth with 122 points. Lehigh (95.5), Holy Cross (46.5), Colgate (21.5), Lafayette (13.33), Loyola Maryland (12), and American (10) rounded out the women’s final standings.
Mids’ Head Coach Jamie Cook collected the Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year for the sixth-consecutive League outdoor championship.
Navy senior Joshua Boamah won the Men’s Highest Point-Scorer of the Meet with gold medals in the shot put and discus, along with his second-place finish in the hammer throw. Boamah was also named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Meet. Army West Point senior Kayley Ragazzini earned both Women’s Highest Point-Scorer of the Meet and Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet honors after winning gold in the discus, and bronze in the shot put and hammer throw.
Bucknell freshman Evelyn Bliss claimed Patriot League Rookie of the Meet honors after winning the javelin. Army West Point freshman Joshua Duncan was named Patriot League Rookie of the Meet after winning the 100 meters, placing second in the 200 meters and anchoring the Black Knights’first-place 100-meter relay squad.
Navy’s Nathan Kent took home Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Meet honors after winning gold in the 200m, 400m, and as a member of the winning 4x400m relay team. Boston University’s Vera Sjöberg earned Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet honors after winning the 1,500m and 5,000m. She also anchored the Terriers 4x800m relay team that logged a third-place finish.
