BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore forward Ashley Sofilkanich was named the Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while American freshman Cecilia Kay earned the PenFed Credit Union Rookie of the Week honor, as announced by the League office on Monday.
Sofilkanich was named Patriot League Player of the Week after averaging a double-double of 25.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in the Bison’s 2-0 week.
Kay was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week averaging 19 points per game and recording a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double.
Navy sophomore guard Zanai Barnett-Gay, Colgate senior guard Taylor Golembiewski, Lehigh fifth-year forward Maddie Albrecht and Bucknell freshman guard Reese Zemitis received honorable mentions.
The Patriot League women’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Bucknell sophomore forward Ashley Sofilkanich led the Bison to a 2-0 week with wins over Lafayette and American averaging 25.5 points per game and 10 rebounds.
*She scored 22 points against Lafayette and a career-high 29 points versus American.
*Sofilkanich recorded double-doubles in both games, bringing her career total to 10.
*The sophomore forward has scored 20+ points in nine games and has a 14-game streak of double-digit scoring.
PenFed Credit Union Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Cecilia Kay, American, Fr., F, Melrose, Mass./ Bishop Fenwick
*Kay recorded a career-high 22 points and nine rebounds against Boston University, adding three blocks and a steal.
*Against Bucknell, the freshman notched her third double-double of the season and second in League play with 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.
*Kay is second in League play in rebounds (11.3) and is tied for first in blocks (40) and blocks per game (2.3).

Zanai Barnett-Gay, Navy, So., G, Glenn Dale, Md./ Riverdale Baptist
Barnett-Gay led the Mids to a 2-0 week, averaging 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals. She posted a season-high 28 points in a comeback win over Loyola, helping Navy to a 4-0 start in Patriot League play, its best since 2013-14.
Taylor Golembiewski, Colgate, Sr., G, Columbia, Conn./ Edwin O. Smith
*Golembiewski averaged 23.0 points in Colgate’s wins over Lehigh and Boston University. The senior guard logged a career high 28 points in the Raiders’ 61-49 win over the Terriers.
Maddie Albrecht, Lehigh, 5th, F, Billings, Mont./Billings West
Albrecht averaged 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 64% from the field in Lehigh’s two games this week. Albrecht scored a season-high 24 points and shot 9-of-12 from the field in the Mountain Hawks’ 90-51 win over Army West Point.
Reese Zemitis, Bucknell, Fr., G, Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy
Zemitis scored a career-high 16 points against Lafayette and added 11 points against American. The freshman shot 7-of-12 from the three-point line in the two games and 9-of-19 overall. Zemitis has scored 68 points in five games since becoming a starter.
