BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point received two of the four Patriot League men’s and women’s swimming and diving weekly awards, while Boston University and Bucknell each received one accolade when the Patriot League office announced the honors on Tuesday.
Army West Point freshman Johnny Crush collected Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors for the fifth time this season following three first-place finishes.
For the second time this season, Bucknell freshman Clara Renner was selected as the Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
Black Knights’ freshman Jack McDaniel was named the Patriot League Men’s Diver of the Week for the first time.
Boston University senior Sophia Souza garnered Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week recognition for the third time this year.
Terriers’ sophomore Zein Mahana, Navy sophomore Juan Mora, junior Mackenzie Kim and junior Lauren Walsh garnered honorable mention nods.
The Patriot League men’s and women’s swimmers and divers of the week were selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.
Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Johnny Crush, Army West Point, Fr., Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier
*Crush earned three first-place finishes in Army West Point’s dual meet at Bucknell, helping the Black Knights defeat the Bison 209-89. The freshman touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle (20.86) and 100-yard butterfly (48.79), before swimming the opening leg on the 200-yard medley relay team (1:29.03) that took first place.
Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Clara Renner, Bucknell, Fr., Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley
*Renner won five individual events and one relay in a 1-1 week for Bucknell, which included defeating La Salle (175-125) on Friday before dropping a tight decision to Army (153-147).
*Against the Black Knights, the freshman touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly, 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard individual medley. In the win over La Salle, Renner was victorious in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly and swam a leg on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay.
Patriot League Men’s Diver of the Week
Jack McDaniel, Army West Point, Fr., Hudson, Ohio/Hudson
*McDaniel helped Army West Point defeat Bucknell in a dual meet, 209-89, as the freshman took first place in the one-meter dive and fourth place in the three-meter dive. The Hudson, Ohio native earned his first collegiate win with a score of 288.00 in the one-meter before totaling 270.38 in the three-meter.
Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week
Sophia Souza, Boston University, Sr., Coconut Creek, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy
*Souza posted a season-best score of 300.45 in the one-meter to earn a win against MIT on Friday before sweeping the diving events in a dual with Colgate and Fairfield on Saturday. The senior helped the Terriers go 2-0 on Saturday with winning scores of 273.45 (one-meter) and 270.30 (three-meter).

Zein Mahana, Boston University, So., Princeton, N.J./Princeton
*Mahana helped the Terriers to a 3-0 weekend in duals, which included sweeping the diving events at MIT on Friday and earning a pair of runner-up finishes against Colgate and Fairfield on Saturday.
*The sophomore posted his collegiate-best score of 326.25 in the one-meter and won the three-meter five with a score of 289.35.
Juan Mora, Navy, So., Folsom, Calif./Mother of Divine Grace
*In Navy’s victory over Townson (158-125), Mora won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.76), swam the breaststroke leg on the Midshipmen’s winning 200-yard medley relay team and took second in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.70).
*Against Kenyon and Princeton, the sophomore won the 100-yard (55.03) and 200-yard breaststrokes (1:56.92) with NCAA B cut times. The Folsom, Calif. native also swam on Navy’s 200-yard and 400-yard medley relay teams that took second and third, respectively.
Mackenzie Kim, Navy, Jr., Diamond Bar, Calif./Diamond Bar
*In Navy’s dual meet against Kenyon and Princeton, Kim earned fourth place in the one-meter (270.65) and three-meter (249.65) dives.
Lauren Walsh, Navy, Jr., Shelton, Conn./Trumbull
*Walsh helped Navy to a 1-1 weekend as the junior placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.21), third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.92) and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.31). Additionally, the Shelton, Conn. native swam on the Mids’ winning 400-yard relay team and the 200-yard medley relay squad that took fourth place.
